***OFFICIAL GOPHERS VS ST GEORGIA IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

Matheui is going to have to go back to pulling up from 6 feet instead of getting it stuffed everytime going all the way to the hole

Game still not over because we can't make free throws or control the defensive boards.

That's true and Dre H is going to have to get his head out of his ... to help this team be worthy.

really would prefer andre hollins going to the line in these situations...

lil Dre really struggling with his shot. Good decision by Joey there to hold that ball

Mason getting the rebound, and did not let himself get trapped. Bigger than big - coach and I agree

well that was incredibly ugly but a win is a win i suppose. get home and get to work

That was horrific. Glad they won though, don't know how they recover if they blow that game.

Torture. It will get better- Matheui and Hollins are better players than this, they have to lead it.
Hollins looked great against Louisville. Hope he turns this around.

morris needs to figure out his role on this team. there have been numerous times where he has been on the floor with hollins and mathieu where morris just plays out of control when the ball is in his hands. the other thing that needs to happen is mo and ee need to have a talk with jesus and figure their **** out, we need both of those guys to start playing at a high level.

I feel like those complaining about Dan Dakich on Wednesday got what they asked for in Bobby Knight this afternoon. My god this game was as hard to listen to as it was to watch.

Have to be concerned about what this team showed in NYC this week. Even if Andre Hollins plays much better, there is still the issue of this team being unable to control it's defensive glass. I knew the Mo/Joey front court would cause issues with interior defense, but A. Mo has been worse than I expected defensively and B. I underestimated how poorly we'd rebound. Elliott is better than Mo on the defensive end of the floor, but he hasn't been anywhere near the defender/rebounder that he was at his peak last year. On the offensive end, Mo is nowhere near his peak of last year with over dribbling in the post, a number of soft attempts down low, and a refusal to use his passing skills out of the post . Elliott is such a non-threat that it's like playing 4-5 offensively when he's in the game.

Oh and Carlos Morris looks much, much more like Chip Armelin than he does Vince Grier.

A lot of work to do. Biggest issues are rebounding and shot selection. We're getting beat on the glass by guys we should not allow to get near the rim and we get into these patterns of taking shots too quickly and with no one able to crash the offensive boards. It ends up with a one shot possession early in the shot clock. That lack of discipline should be corrected with senior leadership.

We have played 2 very good halves! Someday we will learn to expand that lead and not wait for the other team to make their run. Never have seen kids look so scared shooting free throws!!!

Got a win we had to have and did it playing a really poor 2nd half. I thought the defense was very solid today and did a great job forcing turnovers especially in the 1st half. Poor shot selection and free throw shooting really allowed this game this game to be much closer than it should have been. Really thought the reffing was very questionable at times the Gophers seemed to get hit with every little touchy call especially in the 2nd half while Georgia was allowed to be much more physical and got away with a lot of reaching and grabbing.

Carlos Morris needs to get rid of his playground ball instincts (selfish). Big Dre needs to stop his clumsy turn overs. He's doing what Austin was doing for much of the year last year. Little Dre is not a factor at all... His height is definitely a detriment. Joey can't hit any close shots at all. Almost lost again. Still depressed about the SJ game... it could/should have been us in the Finals.

Cut down on sloppy, unforced TOs and move our FT clip up to 75% and this game is a blowout. Luckily those 2 things are fully correctable with focus. It's not like anyone at the FT line has an awful stroke. I expect that number to rise. Seniors are sloppy with the ball (Hollins and Mo) and I would expect that to clean up. Not worried yet and feel happy we got a W. It was needed or this season could've turned into an emotional wreck early.

Except all of the seniors have shown very poor discipline at times. Look good on one play and then turn around and make a stupid mistake or show no hustle or fail to perform a fundamental move. Not panic mode yet, but I really haven't liked how we've played when we're not facing a cupcake at home.

When Joey and Mo are playing there is no physical presence on the defensive boards and in the middle at all, EE does okay, really showed against a inferior team today, hope they can toughen it up a bit before the B1G season starts.

I feel like those complaining about Dan Dakich on Wednesday got what they asked for in Bobby Knight this afternoon. My god this game was as hard to listen to as it was to watch.

At least Knight is consistent and was painful for both teams.

Hollins is really frustrating right now. Morris is doing some good things, just maybe trying to do too much sometimes. If we could combine EE and Walker's game, we'd have a very good player. Walker was terrible on defense again. Buggs needs to play more. He's perfect for the zone, both on offense and defense. I continue to be excited about Mason. Going to be a stud.

The good thing is a lot of the mistakes are correctable. Guys who normally don't miss free throws are. Move on to the next one.

Morris is tough. I get scared whenever he touches the ball on offense, but then I see him with a great steal, rebound, etc. on defense. Makes him very difficult to watch lol
