***OFFICIAL GOPHERS-NEBRASKA IN-GAME THREAD***

Thye really don't deserve to be in - but I hope they do. Then I hope - no matter what happens- that we have an AD that has the guts to pull the trigger on the Tubster.

Who does? Have you seen the bubble the Gophers could lose out and still not be on the bubble.

We don't press, we don't run, we don't spot up or pull up in transition, and we don't take it to the basket. Other than that, we're hitting on all cylinders!'

Am I wrong or did Austin have a couple air balls?!

And I thought Ralph the Turd made me sick last year. Watching Rodney stand around as a spectator is just as maddening.

You'd think your best shooter and shortest player wouldn't be the one throwing the ball inbounds. But hey, coaching staff knew what they were doing, a pass into your worst passer 18 feet from the basket made more sense. At least Mav had a decent look in the end, but yuck puke barf this whole game. This is why I stopped watching this team for 3 games starting with that Wisconsin game - I just can't stand watching such a train wreck of opportunity wasted.

It was a poorly coached game, but having your scorer inbound is a fairly common play in all levels of basketball.

Let's hear it Gopher "fans". Keep the insults coming! I guarantee we don't win any road games in the Big Ten Tourney or the NCAAs.

There is neutral court and away games. How many do you think we play in the BTT and the NCAAs?

Disappointed in the performance and how inconsistent this team can be but some of the overreaction on here is laughable. I think I will let it die down for the night and come back tomorrow when some people are more reasonable and less emotional.

Really dont deserve to get in with a 8-10 conference record, but no matter. With a 10/11/12 seed they will be one and done. Teague needs to put a list together of coaches to approach.

Tubs will finish another year below .500. Even monson was above .500 twice.

I really liked the Huskers' throwback unis.

With 8 seconds left? In general, it isn't rare in the middle of the game, I'll give you that. But the thought is that the defender will be stupid enough to forget about him. Everyone here, everyone on Nebraska's team, and probably most of the people in that building knew that Dre was supposed to end up with the ball. So I'm saying that he being the inbounder where he has little guarantee to even touch the ball is downright idiotic.

When Mav is your best option (and he did OK) you have truly hit the bottom.

Proven fact.

What's a proven fact? If you're talking pure athletes, then yes he is right. But being a good athlete doesn't make a player great.

If you're talking about recruiting and the rankings of the current contributors on the team, they're pretty a wash. Both Berggren and Dekker were rated higher than anyone on the Gophers right now. Wisconsin also has signed a 4-star guy next year.

The most important possession was when we trailed by 3 with 35 seconds left. Most coaches would tell their team, get a quick 2, if a 3 opens up take it, but get something quick...

So, what does Tubby do? He has them milk the clock down to the last 5 seconds and have Andre force a 3.

That one possession illustrates how stupid Tubby Smith is. He is flat out STUPID! He has no business being a head coach above kindergarten level.

I disagree...when a never-ending motor like Mbakwe mails it in much of the game, including the offensive board attempt (none) on Mav's last shot, that's when you know you have truly hit the bottom.

IMO conference record doesn't and shouldn't make a difference. The overall profile is what matters, you can have a 8-10 record in the B1G and you would probably finish 12-6 or better in the SEC just because of the difference in the conference strength, so when you really think about it why should conference record make a huge difference?

Nah, they do deserve to get in...now 8-11 if they lose first round of BTT? Maybe not.

Are you kidding? Not dumb at all for dre to inbound the ball!

This coming from someone who acts like a kindergartner every time we lose.

I'm not sure it isn't as much the players forgetting half of their game - no one drove to the whole the entire damn game except Dre - one time. One time the whole damn game, against a very athletically inferior team. Think about that. As much as I blame Tubby for stupid coaching; the fact remains that the players have to decide themselves that they want to win ball games, and they're simply not doing that. This game is a bit on Tubby, but mostly on players who mailed in a sickening, lackadaisical effort the whole game.

1 road win in conference play is not good enough. This is .500 team or lower in any BCS conference.

Honestly, that's probably thee most disappointing thing about this. It was going to be the year when Tubby finally, after all this time, finished with a winning conference record. Heck, even a blind squirrel finds an acorn at least once in seven years. If it doesn't, nature isn't forgiving; the squirrel doesn't survive.
