***OFFICIAL GOPHERS-ILLINOIS BTT IN-GAME THREAD***

We're a bad team end of story. Anyone who tries to make the argument were not bad is delusional.

The last minute of the game represented the last 15 games of the season or so. Play scared, let an opponent get tons of opportunities to tie the game, can't inbound the ball, and turn the ball over.

Austin got pushed out of bounds, Illinois ball with say ten seconds, Paul hits fade away jumper as clock hits sere 51-49 illinois

Stop blaming the refs...Hollins had no clue where he was on the floor when he caught it. Tubby could not draw a simple inbounds play to just get the ball inbounds

How many offensive rebounds did they have on second to last possession?

Frustrating ending, but a great game from him overall. Good to have him back to his old self, we're certainly going to need him.

on tubby. i think we still back into the tourney. if there's no run to the sweet 16, tubby is toast.

BS...he kept us in most the game when our "great" seniors did NOTHING. We are so poorly prepared for game situations...thats coaching.

Don't tell Parski that. He loves Tubby.

Theres a real good shot they won't win the first one if they get in. This is the selection committees "yuck" team this year. 11 or 12 seed I would guess.

Neither of these teams are very good. We blew this by playing deep into the bench for 13 minutes in the first half and having to dig out from that hole ( based on foul trouble....but did it have to go that long?). Sort of a pattern for this team. Gophers did totally outplay them the second half.

Exactly it. For me, a lot of this boils down to Coaching.

Yeah sloppy series there.....had many chances to grab the ball. If we pick up just one of those, they win.

Gophers will make the tourney but will have a tough road in front of them......will they come out flat and down after this loss or will they come out inspired as it is do or die? This win would have helped them with a better seed and more momentum. Damn.

In 6 years, Tubby's end of game timeout calls have now yielded 4 points, 87 turnovers and 0 wins.

Why in the world would we draw up a play to get Austin Hollins the ball right up next to the out of bounds line? We weren't right up to the shot clock.

This team is the most annoying team that I've ever watched. I sat through teams that were way worse than this team, but never anything as utterly infuriating as watching this team. Their execution is god awful. If I hadn't watched it time and time again this season (and over the course of the last few seasons), I'd be surprised at how poorly an Big 10 basketball team executed down the stretch. Sadly, I'm used to the horror that is our team's ability to execute. That falls on Tubby.

A fitting finish to Tubby Ball in the B1G. The Gophers step out of bound on a side line take out as the clock expires. With 16 second Ill takes it down and scores as their best shooter goes in without a double team.

Sure, tubby sucks we know that....but what about the players....none of this is their fault?? I don't think so

Sure it's their fault too, but Tubby recruited, coached, "prepared", and drew up the "plays" for them. It's not like they just missed shots. Those kinds of losses, you can deal with. The dumpster fire that is our accustomed execution down the stretch is largely coaching. It's avoidable and if it's not avoidable, you have to recruit better.

Which would bring me to a second poll- do you count the play in game as making the NCAA Tournament?

The thing about this year is that making the NCAA is not an accomplishment, getting a play in game or 12th seed is a complete failure and really needs to be viewed that way.

Tough final minute for Austin. Should have had a loose ball before their game tieing three and after almost loosing the ball twice on the third time he succeeded. You wonder why we couldn't find a way to get the inbounds to Dre. I would fire Tubby next Friday night.

Falls on Tubby. We were being embarrassed yet he refused to bring Austin and Trevor back into the game. Guess how many fouls they ended with. Three for Trevor and two for Austin. That cost us the game. But what's new.......Tubby has always been way too stubborn and it's often hurt the team. He also still cannot figure how to break the zone or draw an inbounds play.
