***OFFICIAL GOPHERS AT NORTHWESTERN BIG TEN OPENER IN GAME THREAD!!***

Okay boys, put your money on the table right now. Do the Gophers top 10 points in this game?

I say no.

It's not impossible... but, no, I just don't see it. We'd need defensive points.

Well, lets hope Matt, Mitch and crew figure it out for the second half. If the O comes out and lays an egg to start, then it might be time to consider Croft, Perra, whomever. Sometimes a change at Qb brings some urgency and a spark to the offense. It's worth a try if the alternative is another inept half of offense like the 1st half.

My only retort at this point is to say figure out what? They are what they are. Leidner can't throw, Limegrover and Kill love up the middle runs to nowhere, the offensive line can't block and the receivers barely (if ever) get open. They are what they are, which adds up to endless amounts of bad offense and pity parties in the postgame.

Embarrassing showing by to coaching staff so far. At this point, I'm just looking forward to another whiny post-game pity party from Kill.

Do you suppose Jer will offer to resign again

Vanilla playbook game after game. Kill won't take risks, overly dependent on defense. It's the basic character of his offensive philosophy.

Afraid Kill and his coaches are out of their element in Big Ten

They may be on to something.

The way these guys are playing, they won't beat anybody in the league, much less Wisconsin.
They may beat Purdue, but even that is uncertain. The Gophers have to try a new outlook on offense - try to score a lot! It works!

Can't see Kill changing QBs. Ever.

Leidner just is NOT a QB!! Poor recruiting

It was fine they gave Leidner a look at QB when he got here, but it should be obvious now he never should have stayed there. I think the coaches fell in love with his toughness and running, but vastly over estimated this effectiveness against Big 10 teams and their ability to develop him as a passer. He looks like someone who could have been a great TE. Would be 6-4 250 and can run a little. It's not too late to try next year.

THis team has continually shot itself in the foot more often than previous season. And from a senior DE. Unbelievable.

Why do opposing WRs make it look so easy getting open on obvious passing situations? Our guys are never that open.

Wow, that's what a passing game looks like.

I hear you. Still trying to be optimistic.
