Official "Bought first time seats, upgraded seats or parking, or added seats thread"

Thought I'd start a thread for those who purchased for the first time, upgraded seats or parking, or added incremental seats. Sharing information might be helpful for people to make sure they don't get missed in the call back by the ticket office or so that they know what's available.

Please consider including in your post:
  • # of Gopher Points
  • # and location of tickets
  • # and location of parking
  • desired location of tickets
  • time and date on which the ticket office called you / you called the ticket office
  • indicate what kind of options you were presented with - locations, # of seats, etc.
  • indicate the disposition of your request - did you get seats/parking, where?

Personally, I'm considering moving out of 110 to 109 or 112. I've got four seats and prefer to be high. I've got about 11,000 points. Would like to keep my spot in Ski-U-Mah. If I find desirable seats in another section, I'll alert this thread with the exact locaton of my existing seats once I've purchased new ones so that someone who wants to move up can follow up with the ticket office. If I don't get new seats I'll let everyone know what I was presented with so anyone else with four tickets will know what's available.

Hoping we can help each other out this way.

Anyone know when the upgrade calls are supposed to start?

Update: I spoke with the ticket office today and was told that they are tentatively targeting May 20th to begin upgrade calls.

I purchased season tickets for the first time a couple of months back. I'm not sure how it all works but I guess at this time, I wait for a call back to see if I'm able to upgrade. I'm new at all of this.

Just curious. Has anyone been contacted for thier upgrade yet?

Last year I got a 4 game pack. This year I went for a full season ticket package for 2. I just got a call today to upgrade to section 101 row 16. Hoping to upgrade one more time to 114 or 115.

I haven't yet been contacted, badgergopher. According to a post above, speculation is that call backs will begin around May 20th.

That I correct...mid May they will start. Those who want to upgrade should get an email like last year. If you hear others saying they have already been upgraded that's BS.

Parski, I got a phone call yesterday from the Gophers Ticket office with the upgrade. Not Bogus.

Received the following today via email,

=================================

The 2013 Gopher Football seat/parking improvement process will begin on Monday, May 20 and is expected to end no later than Friday, June 21. The duration of the process will primarily depend on the length of time needed to fulfill each request. In our continued effort to improve customer service during football seat/parking improvements, each season ticket holder who requested an upgrade will receive a phone call regarding his/her request. Calls will be made Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. Please click here to log into your online account and ensure all phone numbers are valid. (Click on Edit Contact to update contact information).

All season tickets holders have been placed into 10 Zones. Season ticket holders were divided into the Zones based first by their Golden Gopher Fund membership level and then by their Football Gopher Point total. The Gopher Ticket Office will begin with Zone 1 when starting upgrades, as season ticket holders with the highest priority were awarded Zone 1.

Based on your donor level and your Football Gopher Points total, you are in Zone 1. Click here to view the anticipated dates we expect to be calling customers in each Zone and to see which areas are available for seat/parking improvements. If you expect any conflicts with the anticipated date range we will be contacting your Zone or if you have any questions about the upgrade process, call Gopher Fan Relations at 612-624-8080 (option 2).
We appreciate your patience during this process! Thank you for your support of Gopher Football!

Go Gophers!

It will update at the beginning of each day. It says sections without maroon borders don't have any consecutive seats left.

Apparently, I'm in Zone 6. I currently have two donation seats, need to add a third for my 2 year old son, so I'll be adding a seat, but downgrading location (can't really swing the third donor seat).

So, I'll be looking for a new home. How are the end zone seats? I ask, because they look like a good place for a kid to run around if needed. Or is the beer garden taking up all the space now?

Also, will be changing parking. Since the numb nuts at parking service have determined that no shuttle is needed from the west bank (one of the suggestions is that we take the 16A--um, thanks), I'm thinking of moving to the Fairgrounds. I will miss the walk through campus, (although with a two year old, this takes forever, and the stadium does not allow strollers). But I will be able to be shuttled to the door, and I live in St. Paul anyhoo.

How is the fairgrounds atmosphere for tailgaiting? I used to be on the West Bank, and I hated that they took my nice small lot ringed by grass, and connected it to the larger lot.

They put the link out for the upgrade map but it is pointing to the seating chart. Looks like a mistake. I sent an email to the ticket office to alert them.

Anyone know how the zones match up to Gopher Point totals?

Crap I'm in Zone 7....everything will be blacked out for upgrades by the time I get a shot.

Update:

I've got four seats in section 110. About 11,000+ points. I wanted to downgrade to four $250 seats on the sunny side of the stadium so that I could pay less but keep my spot in Ski-U-Mah. I'm in zone 1.

They called today at noon. They offered a split pair on the outside of row 28 in section 112 (separated by four seats). They also offered two sets of four together in 142, rows 16 and 28 (home side opposite 109).

I ulitmately decided to stay put.

I thought the exact same thing, but I noticed today that section 108 is blacked out. So, although it looks like it just a repeat of the seating map, there is a method to their maddness. Right now (not counting student section or other similar designated areas), every section except 108 has seats availble to be upgraded to. I'm sure there are other complications such as seats in some of those sections only available in pairs, and stuff like that, but overall there is only one section in the stadium blacked out after the completion of Zone 1.

Thanks for the information. If others getting "the call" would do the same it would be great!
