Official 2026 Roster Movement Thread - Who's In and Who's Out?

Most are out as soon as semester is over and making visits. Most of our players that have announced are likely making move down a level.
You cannot be contacted by another school until you are in the portal.

How can you be "making a visit"? On your own dime, perhaps?

Or are you saying all these guys are actively flaunting NCAA rules?

They just added 5 in the 2026 class and it sounds like they are high on Hayes and Martino, I think they’ll be fine. I wouldn’t be surprised if they add at least 1 in the portal too though.
I've heard that Nuke Hayes is the most dynamic WR after the catch the Gophers have and it isn't close. The battle this spring/summer will be fascinating between Smith, Tracy, Coleman, Hayes, and the young guys. I think Coleman might come out on top with another offseason in the weight room.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but it sounds like our transfer NIL checkbook is very slim, most of the NIL is reserved for recruits. If that's the case, it will be tough to recreate 2019 with guys like St. Juste and Williamson.

I’m sure it is slim compared to the top of the B1G and Sec.

However, it was enough to bring in 22 transfers last year but I wouldn’t be upset if they reconsidered their strategy and target more quality over quantity and bring in more impactful players.

Even at 10-12 from the transfer market, they can likely fill a lot of the holes from last year with surefire starters. Most, if not all, depth is filled theough HS recruiting.

I think they bring in however many is needed to fill out the roster. There’s no rule saying you have to pay them all.

Where are you hearing that? I don’t think it’s really public knowledge. To be fair Williamson and St. Juste probably wouldn’t have commanded much NIL at the time they had transferred here considering their prior bodies of work.

Fair point. It seems there must be a way for them to get more impact from their transfers compared to last year. However, maybe last year wasn’t a money problem but more an evaluation problem.

My understanding is recruits are paid out of the revenue sharing and NIL is likely very little if anything at all, until they play. My understanding is Fleck really goes with a flat fee for all incoming HS recruits.

Revenue sharing has been in existence for roughly 6 months.

So your "understanding" must be pretty new

I think I've heard it in random podcasts over the last few months.

Ah yes, I've heard about the flat fee. I wonder how they're approaching high-need, high-level transfers then. For example I've heard d and o linemen is a very competitive transfer market.

That was grapevine information I got since the start of the season. Roughly $75,000 per incoming HS Player.

That makes sense because OL and DL are the hardest to evaluate and are typically red-shirted. Tons of G5, IVY, FCS, and D2 linemen move around as they prove their ability. MN has 3 guys starting for other teams this year with Vanderbilt, Northwestern and tOSU.

About what I make per year in my 25th year of teaching. I should probably go back to college and be a football player.
Feels like there is a flaw in that plan somewhere. Then again.....if you can punt......that does seem to be the position where some older players end up getting on the field.

Our district is drafting up their picket line signs. Kids might get an extended winter break in Anoka-Hennepin

I noticed we seem to have a lot more players announcing plans to transfer and showing up on the recruiting sites than most other teams. What’s up with that? I’m thinking it must be some kind of strategic move, but I can’t figure out what that is.

Like who, people that have already announced or more.

I’m not paying as close attention as I used to, but I’ve only seen a handful announce they are transferring out. Are the paywall boards saying more?

Kinda surprised we only have two guys announcing their return. After the Wisconsin game PG said his priority beginning the next day.. Sunday after the game was to meet with each player to learn their roster decisions and wish the bottom guys well elsewhere. That was priority one.
Maybe no news is good news but likely guys and their agents are negotiating for more money.

I have not gone looking for these announcements, the two listed are just the ones others had posted about. There certainly could be more.
