Official 2026 Roster Movement Thread - Who's In and Who's Out?

It's too bad Prince passed away. He could have been our sugar daddy! Imagine the halftime shows! Downside is he probably would have insisted to call at least two plays a game.

He probably would have been bigger on basketball. I think he played for Minneapolis Central way back when.
He was a great basketball player according to Charlie Murphy.

Downside? With some of the play calls by our OC this past year, they would probably be an improvement!

Added Thompson and Knutson.

A little surprised that none of our outgoing transfers have committed anywhere else to this point though I know a few have posted visits.

Haven't read through the thread, so maybe the info's already there, but are we in on getting a field goal kicker through the portal?

I am surprised Thompson's commitment is going under the radar alittle under this thread. He was a big time HS recruit and I am excited for that but our history with former big time HS WRs through the transfer portal: Malachi Coleman, Dylan Wright, Tyler Williams to name a few isn't making it look good. I hope I can be proved wrong here.

So is Koi waiting for the CFP to end? Do you guys think he goes to Miami with Heatherman?
Maybe.....it is interesting, Indiana and Ole Miss both have transfers coming in but Miami and Oregon don't have any. I can understand a coaching staff not wanting to be distracted by dealing with transfers while still playing but potentially put yourself in a tough spot as well by not being active in the portal right now.

Timing is kind of dumb to have the portal window open while games are still being played for some teams.

Ohio State has been another speculated destination for Koi and Caleb Downs hasn't declared. It'd be naive to believe Koi entered the portal without having had conversations with other programs. But it's possible his intended destination has a domino that needs to fall.

It is because of those other guys that people are going to be cautiously optimistic with a guy like Thompson because it hasn't worked in the past.

That said, Thompson does feel a little different then those others. Drake mentioned in one of the late press conferences that they would be looking to bring in a WR to stretch the field and Thompson could definitely be that guy. As others have said, we are due for one of these high rated WR transfers to really pan out. Hopefully Thompson is that guy.

That could make some sense. Was down to us and Ohio State out of high school so can see why he would be interested in going there but no way he would go to sit behind Downs.

Kind of shocked Downs hasn't declared for the draft, seems like he would be an early round lock.

He might be looking to make more money by staying.

I'm optimistic on him too but as you mentioned we're a jaded bunch with this archetype.

FWIW the Auburn message board I checked out seemed to be bummed to lose him more than any guy they lost so far, and referred to him as a would-be-starter for 2026 for them.

They also seemed appalled that he would go to Minnesota. I was too lazy to create an account and point out that the Gophers had a better record this year, each of the last 7 years, and defeated them when the schools last played in 2019.

The replies on X are in the same vein. CFB evolves quickly, so the fortunes of their program could turn on a dime, but they seem to be on the wrong side of schools like Vandy and Indiana turning things around.

The feelings that the SEC is the center of the college football universe are deeply ingrained at places like Auburn.

Not sure when that picture was taken but dude seems fully on board with the short shorts trend in college football. Not a fan of that but as long as he can cover a WR it can be overlooked :)

Started as a freshman at Michigan State and has 3 years to play. Was a high 3* with offers from Ohio State and Penn State during HS recruitment.

I don't know about MSU but most of the guys who have started as freshmen at Minnesota have turned out to be NFL level guys. Especially in the secondary.

Looks like a great get.
