Elder kicker statesman Mark Crawford is going to be missed.

I haven't heard much from Alexandria WR Kristen Hoskins.
 

Concern and paranoia rampant on GI is that a starter or two may be entering the portal. Daniels seems to be the most mentioned along with Gousby, Roy, Johnson, Lemeke, Geers, etc.

Its certainly reasonable that some contributors may bolt.

Seldom seemed even average. Gophers’ lost Iowa games may have been because of the difference in punters. Need 40 yards to pin them at the 5, Crawford would get you 35 yards. Need 55 yards to flip the field, Crawford would get you 35 yards. Only long punts were lucky rolls.

Disagree.....Crawford was the definition of average. He wasn't great by any means but he also wasn't nearly as bad as some here like to make him out to be.

Gousby and Lemeke can go. They’re meh in my eyes. Idk why Roy and Johnson would go anywhere. They’re about to play BIG minutes.

I understand why Gousby may want out. Lameke I'd like just because we need receivers. Geers would be surprising to me. Seems like he played plenty and was targeted often enough.

Brockington just doesn’t “pop” to me I guess. If Fleck can land a couple guys like Javon Tracy and Malachi Coleman I don’t think it will be to hard to find a guy on the roster that can do what Brockington does.

Don’t get me wrong I don’t necessarily want them to leave, I just wouldn’t be mad or surprised if they do. Roy, Johnson and Geers would be a bummer tho.

Luke Ryerse is coming in as a Freshmen punter, not sure if he will be a year 1 starter, but he should be pretty good. His brother Grant did kickoffs for at least a year for the Gophers.

Seems like perhaps the easiest position for coaches to judge who is better.

Both are better players than we should want to lose. Also I would be a bit surprised if Meke or Gousby left. Meke should be in position for a major role and Gousby already plays a lot and I think Heatherman will continue to play him as he rotates his safeties a lot, so I don’t think playing time would be a major issue for either player. Never know though as a player could leave for a million other reasons, we like to simplify it to money and or playing time, but it’s often other reasons in play.

luke is a stud....he will be a legit special teams player...dude is built too. put him in linebacker as well

I was always a bit jealous of the Auzzie punters other teams had on their roster. I mean, how did IOWA get Dakin, and we got Crawford? Also, Crawford was way below average on scrambling for a first down. The guy could have been outrun by a sloth.
