We may be better at punter. Crawford was pretty average.Elder kicker statesman Mark Crawford is going to be missed.
I haven't heard much from Alexandria WR Kristen Hoskins.
Seldom seemed even average. Gophers’ lost Iowa games may have been because of the difference in punters. Need 40 yards to pin them at the 5, Crawford would get you 35 yards. Need 55 yards to flip the field, Crawford would get you 35 yards. Only long punts were lucky rolls. We may be better at punter. Crawford was pretty average.
Disagree.....Crawford was the definition of average. He wasn't great by any means but he also wasn't nearly as bad as some here like to make him out to be.Seldom seemed even average. Gousby and Lemeke can go. They’re meh in my eyes. Idk why Roy and Johnson would go anywhere. They’re about to play BIG minutes.Concern and paranoia rampant on GI is that a starter or two may be entering the portal. Daniels seems to be the most mentioned along with Gousby, Roy, Johnson, Lemeke, Geers, etc.
It’s certainly reasonable that some contributors may bolt.
I understand why Gousby may want out. Lameke I'd like just because we need receivers. Geers would be surprising to me. Seems like he played plenty and was targeted often enough.Gousby and Lemeke can go. They’re meh in my eyes. Idk why Roy and Johnson would go anywhere. They’re about to play BIG minutes.
Gousby was pretty good this last year.Gousby and Lemeke can go. They’re meh in my eyes. Idk why Roy and Johnson would go anywhere. They’re about to play BIG minutes.
Agreed, Gousby improved a lot this year. Howden and Nubin took some time too, not that he’s in that category but he was a solid contributor. I hope he’s back.Gousby was pretty good this last year.
Brockington just doesn’t “pop” to me I guess. If Fleck can land a couple guys like Javon Tracy and Malachi Coleman I don’t think it will be to hard to find a guy on the roster that can do what Brockington does.I understand why Gousby may want out. Lameke I'd like just because we need receivers. Geers would be surprising to me. Seems like he played plenty and was targeted often enough.
Luke Ryerse is coming in as a Freshmen punter, not sure if he will be a year 1 starter, but he should be pretty good. His brother Grant did kickoffs for at least a year for the Gophers.Elder kicker statesman Mark Crawford is going to be missed.

Would assume Caleb McGrath would get first crack at the job.Luke Ryerse is coming in as a Freshmen punter, not sure if he will be a year 1 starter, but he should be pretty good. His brother Grant did kickoffs for at least a year for the Gophers.
Average would have been a massive improvement from Crawford. Nice story. Bad punter. We may be better at punter. Crawford was pretty average.
Seems like perhaps the easiest position for coaches to judge who is better.Would assume Caleb McGrath would get first crack at the job.
Nationally 60 in avg punt and 63 in net. 11th in big ten. About the epitome of averageAverage would have been a massive improvement from Crawford. Nice story. Bad punter.
It's one of the positions where there is very little nuance. He's average.Nationally 60 in avg punt and 63 in net. 11th in big ten. About the epitome of average
Both are better players than we should want to lose. Also I would be a bit surprised if Meke or Gousby left. Meke should be in position for a major role and Gousby already plays a lot and I think Heatherman will continue to play him as he rotates his safeties a lot, so I don’t think playing time would be a major issue for either player. Never know though as a player could leave for a million other reasons, we like to simplify it to money and or playing time, but it’s often other reasons in play.Gousby and Lemeke can go. They’re meh in my eyes. Idk why Roy and Johnson would go anywhere. They’re about to play BIG minutes.
luke is a stud....he will be a legit special teams player...dude is built too. put him in linebacker as wellLuke Ryerse is coming in as a Freshmen punter, not sure if he will be a year 1 starter, but he should be pretty good. His brother Grant did kickoffs for at least a year for the Gophers.
Out of curiosity, where did they pick these names? Inside scoop?Concern and paranoia rampant on GI is that a starter or two may be entering the portal. Daniels seems to be the most mentioned along with Gousby, Roy, Johnson, Lemeke, Geers, etc.

I was always a bit jealous of the Auzzie punters other teams had on their roster. I mean, how did IOWA get Dakin, and we got Crawford? Also, Crawford was way below average on scrambling for a first down. The guy could have been outrun by a sloth. We may be better at punter. Crawford was pretty average.
Roy leaving would have been a major kick in the stones.Darrius Green back
Nathan Roy back
