Troy with the 73-yard missed stripped TD allowed. If this were an official stat, would people stop doing it?

North Texas has had two brutal calls go against them handing Tulane 14 points.

Missed a kick catch interference on a muffed punt recovered inside the 5

And now ruled a TD on a fumble that went out the end zone.

Yeah.....both of those were bad.

Forgot Dan Mullen was coaching unlv. Not his best effort today. Gonna lose to boise

I mean the fact he made it to the championship in year 1 is pretty incredible, they had to replace a whole roster. It's been an impressive performance even if they didn't come up on top.

Yeah not a knock on him for the season. They just looked real disjointed tonight and he made some odd choices down the stretch

Won’t get into them making it with unm beating both sdsu and unlv of the 4 teams tied at 6-2. Good year to build on for them in any regard

Figured that the Big 12 Championship would have some more offensive firepower. Don't much care to see either of these teams win......but I guess if the Rate Bowl looks like our (likely) destination......we'd prefer to see TTU win and keep the Big 12 as a one bid conference.

BYU always blows a big game either it be basketball or football.

Illinois State trailed NDSU 14-28 in 4q. Illinois State scores TD with 50 seconds left and went for 2. They shock Bison 29-28 and eliminate the #1 seed from FCS playoffs.
Just last week some of their fans were saying they’d beat MN and Wisconsin by 3+ scores.

Is Alabama in the playoffs no matter what? I don’t believe conference championship losses should hurt a team if compared to teams that don’t play in one unless it’s a blowout.

Conf championship games need to go?

Start playoffs a week earlier

Yep, this is kinda dumb when it isn’t a de facto playoff play-in scenario. I suppose conferences need to do the math on whether potentially getting a fringe CFP team booted out with the additional loss versus losing this weekends tv revenue makes more sense $ wise which is of course the whole reason for the season. I have no idea. I can’t recall but I believe a team projected to make the field was left out after losing a conference championship last year…but my memory ain’t what it used to be. Tell me I’m senile.

This bama-Georgia game is a real snoozer. Georgia will be content to run clock out.

I don’t think it’s possible for bama to play themselves out of the playoff but they’re trying

It is a play in scenario for Big 12 and ACC.

But yeah, SEC and Big 10 championship games are just for bragging rights. That said, there may be a first round bye on the line in the SEC game, I think Indiana and Ohio State get one regardless.

IU bye
Georgia bye
Texas tech bye

One could argue Oregon over OSU if OSU loses big to IU (both will have IU as only loss which will be loss to #1, which will be “best” loss)

If OSU wins, IU still will get a bye with the best loss

The B1G and SEC would raise hell if a team got left out bc they played in a conference championship.
Do you want Texas (OSU, Florida, Georgia, best win A&M) or Alabama (FSU, Georgia, Oklahoma, best win Georgia) in? Bama is going to have that that that best win was in week 4 and Texas looks much improved and lost to OSU on the road. I don’t care, but if they lose by 28 tonight, it’s going to be an interesting debate on if they get punished for the cc game

How can Bama get in getting shutout in their title game and having 3 losses? Who is in and who is out?
Can't really knock a team out of CFP for losing in conference championship game and with the way the SEC is A&M, Bama, Ole Miss, Georgia, and Oklahoma have been viewed as locks heading into today. OSU, IND, Oregon were locks from the Big 10. Texas Tech was a lock from the Big 12 and will now get a bye most likely.

That is 9 spots, Tulane and Virginia get the final conference champion spots and that leaves one more spot for Notre Dame, Miami, or BYU. Apparently BYU had to win today to get the final spot so I guess it comes down to Notre Dame or Miami.

random chaos scenarios could lead to ACC winner being out (if it’s Duke). Then JMU will get in as the 5th conference champ.

Think it’s a fascinating debate on the Bama, ND, Miami, Texas cut line. BYU is def out now
