Can't argue with a free education. Good luck to him. Would have been nice to have him stick around, but I can't blame him for taking a scholarship.

He won't be getting a free education at a Division 2 school since they do not give full rides due to the limited number of scholarships and total dollars available. He could possibly have gotten a full ride from UND though (FCS).

I saw Oppedal play in HS. In all honesty, I don't think he's a D1 FB player. He's got the size, but I don't think he's got the strength or quickness.

IMHO, he's a D2 player. at D2, he could be a starter. at D1, he's a career backup and scout-team guy.

Tougher standards for PWOs to get into school than for scholarship guys.
 

Another possibility if that is the case. is the JC route like Iowa Western.

On the other hand, he my have size potential but may not translate as starter material in the B1G. He may not want to be a practice player his entire career when he can start on a line at a lower division school.

Does anyone know what happened to Eric Rousemiller from Lakeville South? He was listed as a RS FR on the 2017 roster, but not in 2018. He was a three-time All-South Suburban All-conference honoree.

His Twitter says he is a shot putter. Maybe just sticking to track.
