Thanks, very informative.

Kiante Hardin, athlete/corner recruit from the high school Coach Kill previously coached at and won a state title (Webb City, MO), had the MaxPreps #1 play in the country last Friday on this play where he takes away a near-interception and takes it to the house. I think Hardin attended the Minnesota BBQ in July. His play begins at about 5:09 in the video:

Go Gophers!!

I'd be surprised if Carlberg isn't out for the season after tonight. And take it for what its worth but I also surprisingly heard from someone close that he will be a gopher.

Shannon Brooks and Alonzo Craighton are here this weekend on OVs: http://minnesota.247sports.com/Season/2015-FootballCrVisits

Commitments are likely from both of these players in the not too distant future as we are their best offers and they have no other visits scheduled. Craighton is the teammate and best friend of Justin Reid, so hopefully he is wowed and it gets Reid up here for a visit.

Brooks is a head-scratcher to me. I'm not sure why we would take 3 RB's in this class after taking 2 last year.

Whoa! It'll be nice if this was MNs commitment list!

Can Brooks play another position? the staff would like as many guys as possible to have some flexibility on position, no matter what they are recruited as.

Yes. I'm no doctor but important to note that while he was on the ground being attended to he wasn't holding his knee directly but a little lower so maybe not quite as severe.

Another OT (Class of 2012?) from EP had a season injury and was out for the season. Didn't his dad used to be a coach with the Vikings? Hopefully, it was nothing like that. I think the kid broke his leg.

Can't think of his name.

This is all speculation on my part (so I'll probably get called out for it), but if Brooks commits I would think Johannesson is the most likely to switch. Or maybe the staff really does want 3 RB's, that just wouldn't make much sense to me.

Davidson?

Johannesson has already stated multiple times one of the biggest reasons he chose Minnesota was because of the opportunity to play RB and if they tried to recruit him as LB he probably woulda just chose NDSU so I don't really see a position change for him. Judging from his tweets Brooks seems very interested in Minnesota so if the offer is still on the table I wouldn't be surprised with a commit from him this weekend the question would be what position does he end up playing as 3 RBs in this class just doesn't seem that likely.

This staff will always give a kid an honest shot at their preferred position. They then are brutally honest about where a kids prospects are given the depth chart. The kid then has the option of being buried on the depth chart or competing for playing time at another position.

Davidson?

That's the name. Nick Davidson who went to Stanford instead of the Gophers. We had zero chance for these types of kids then.

It will change next year if the Gophers meet or beat expectations.

Since we can't pass they have decided to eliminate the QB position and play an extra RB.
