Go Gophers!!
Love my Gophers, definitely have the Maroon tinted glasses on, but watching the game last night, seems like those teams are playing a different level. As good as we were this year, the gap between a top ten team and a top 4 team seems pretty wide.
This. I had to re-read those odds on Morgan to win the Heisman. Time to start shedding the "we ain't on their level" thing, I think. At least for me. At least, that's what Coach asked the State of MN to do.I used to think this way, too. But now I'm not sure I agree with the "different level" argument anymore.
Auburn lost to LSU by 3 points. 3 points. And as far as I know no one has ever claimed that LSU is on a "different level" from Auburn. The Gophers whipped Auburn, and it was worse than the final score of that game would indicate.
I know that those facts alone don't prove the Gophers are as good as LSU and/or Clemson, but I am beginning to think that the entire "different level" argument is weakening. It hasn't been disproved (yet), it's not crumbling — but it might be developing some cracks in the foundation.

His odds were stated as MUCH lower in a thread last week...something like 100/1, I believe. I stated how that was a fantastic bet given how many weird things happen in a CFB season like injuries, upsets, etc. But man, 10-1...it's hard to imagine how far this program has come. And Tanner Morgan 10/1 odds to win the Heisman, behind only Trevor Lawrence, Justin Fields and Kedon Slovis.
Insane.
