The truncated Covid season was not kind to PJ.
The threat that other schools were after him was put out by his agent.
He already has job security for the next five years.
It would be folly to extend his contract until the results of the 2021 season are in.

I expect a mid-season extension with a BIG buyout if things are looking well. Post Nebraska or post Maryland if we're looking at a one loss season up to that point. If Northwestern is having a down year, maybe they hold out to hopefully have at most 1 lost going into the final 3 weeks.

Basically, if we reach the final 3 weeks with 1 (maybe 2) loss(es) max, I'd be surprised if we waited to give an extension. If we have 3 or more, I can see us waiting to see how the last 3 weeks go.
