Didn't vote *&^!#*&^!#*&^!#*&^!#*&^!#*&^!#bag.

Expectations went down when Mbakwe did. A "C" sounds appropriate to me based on those lowered expectations.

B-. Pulling the car out of the ditch twice was impressive. Of course it shouldn't have been in the ditch twice.

I'm actually surprised at the amount of C's given. That would mean it's an average season, or we finished where you would have guessed. Finishing 10th out of 12 in the Big 10 for me was below average. Nice run at the end, no doubt, but didn't erase our B1G season.

I said C because I was expecting a poor result in B1G after Mbakwe went down.

I went with a C. Thought it was a touch better than a C because of the NIT run, but not to the point of a C+.

After Trevor went down, I knew we had no chance at the NCAA tourney. Throw in a terrible season by RS3 and MO not playing, it could have been worse. No run in the NIT would have been a D.

Finishing second in the NIT is average to me.

I went with D, I guess I could possibly see justification for a C-, but in no way can a grade any higher be defended.

I've been watching long enough to know the Gophers can't lose a first round draft choice and then lite up the B1G. They deserve a C for the development of the team. We are going to be a much improved team next year, unfortunately we paid for it this season.

Go Gophers!

What did you expect from the team when Mbakwe went down? And when Dre was injured and couldn't get the valuable experience at the beginning of the year?

C. The fact that they lost their best player before the season started, didn't have Mo either, and only had one senior on the entire squad would make me give them a C. They played in a lot of close games, which should provide experience for next year. Also starting a freshman point guard in BIG play.

D: we were 6-12 in the Big Ten, the games that count.

John, respectfully, I expect more from one of the most knowledgeable and loyal football posters. You preach patience and so do I.

Go Gophers!

Went with C because I consider it to be a reflection of mediocrity or "being average". If C- or D+ were options I would have voted for one of those. Overall, I think it was closer to C- than D+ but by a very small amount. As a result, I gave it a C, which is honestly a bit generous.

There are 3 parts to a season. ...

Nonconference = B (turned out to be a pretty weak NC sked but even so Gophs did solid work without Mbakwe)

B1G regular season = F (even w/o Mbakwe, this team had enough talent to get to the NCAA. ... B1G opener @ Illinois set an awful tone)

B1G Tournament & beyond = B+ (a lot of encouraging developments after the point (Indiana debacle) it appeared the Gophers might tank the season)

Final GPA = 2.11 (slightly above a C)

I struggled with this one. I gave them a D but would have preferred a D+ or C- if given the option. I tossed out the preseason and NIT as meaningless. (Preseason is for scrimmages and the NIT was a series of wins against disappointed teams culminating in the "showcase" in front of 3,000 fans in MSG.) The B1G record should have been 8-10 or 9-9, even without Mbakwe. Tubby mishandled his roster and retarded Hollins' development. There were several games where the team looked unprepared. Ironically, I give Tubby credit for sticking with Ralph even though it was clear from the midpoint of the year that the team was better with EE on the floor. I thought that showed loyalty to a senior who was the only one from his class to stick it out.

Even though the NIT essentially means nothing, winning is always better than losing, so the strong finish to the year provides hope and excitement for next year. I will breathe easier on 4/11 when we know that Rodney is coming back for sure.
