Notre Dame signee WR Xavier Watts: "The Earth is flat. It just doesn’t make any sense to me that the world is round.”

One person shouldn’t ruin the reputation of an entire establishment. did Randy Moss’s antics, such as running over a woman with his car, ruin the reputation of the Vikings? Nope.

We're just having a little fun with this...you are taking it way too seriously.

There's a great documentary on Netflix about the flat earth true believers. It's scary funny as several people attempt to prove it's flat only to have every attempted experiment fail and do the exact opposite.

We have satellites that have pictured the earth and showed it to be round. How is it even up for debate anymore?

I could be wrong but a theory as flipping idiotic as this which can be proven wrong within a second or quick look from a new borne. Everyone who believes it should be sent to a crazy hospital for life.
Around the globe I say!!!!

But what about the Love Boat???

Also, not sure how old you are, but Moss didn't run any woman over. He literally moved his car with a meter maid sitting on the hood. There were definitely no tires running over any body parts. Also, that was hilarious when Moss did that - he just had the balls to do what everybody who has ever gotten a parking ticket while they're at standing at their vehicle wanted to do.
The Love Boat had numerous players from the Vikings team on it. Not just a single person. That makes the team look bad when it’s a chunk of players from it. Also, that was situation that dealt with character, not belief. I’m old enough to remember the incident happening, I guess I don’t remember the story very well though. I’ll use a different example then, Johnny Manziel didn’t make the Browns look bad. He just made himself look like a jackass

I think for a large number of them it's a meta-troll.

It's harming the reputation of any school he's ever been affiliated with.

Meh, I would imagine most of the people who are flat earthers are either HS kids who will be going to college or college kids (I could be wrong). You almost have to go to school to be taught to be that dumb. It's an inevitable consequence of post structuralism that is invading schools.

I also think it's a meta-troll for a lot of these folks.

Okay, well he didn’t harm it either.

He did - I didn’t really get back on Vikings train until they drafted Teddy. Coincidentally I found out years later that Moss was actually a really good person in many respects. He did a ton for St. Joe’s Home for Children, and made sure the Vikings PR guys didn’t put it out there because he wasn’t doing it for his reputation.

When Moss joined NFL Sunday Countdown....it became my go to NFL Sunday pregame show. He's fantastic. Rex Ryan was a great addition as well.

Nobody asked to see Uranus on this board. I’ll never unsee this.

I used to work in DT Mpls during college at a spot where a lot of NFL players went. Randy was not one of them that was always out, but he did come in once with his family for a private event (it was family friendly). He was the nicest and most genuine NFL player/celebrity I had ever met.

He's also great on NFL Sunday Countdown.

If he had actually run someone over and the Vikings didn't care, then yeah, it probably would have. Luckily, that didn't happen though.

It's easy for the to explain away:

"Those are all photoshopped, it's part of the conspiracy to keep you from the truth: That the Earth is flat"

Kyrie Irving espouses the same idiocy and he also went to an “elite” academic institution.

Just an FYI, this has been a long troll by Kyrie. He does it to point out how the media and people will talk about things as trivial as a basketball player’s belief regarding the shape of the Earth, rather than more noteworthy topics. I’m not personally a fan of Kyrie, and honestly don’t think his trolling is really very helpful in making his point, but I digress...

I was a flat earth guy before being a flat earth guy was popular. Time to move on I guess......

Galoots don't only exist in Fairy Tales.

eh, takes all kinds.

i’d prefer to be be at a university with a heterodoxy of ideas, even if some of them are stupid, than be a part of a rigid orthodoxy where everyone’s thoughts are policed by line toers who are too afraid of being different or being made fun of that they are incapable of pursuing new ideas.

a flat earth is a stupid idea, but there are many other orthodox ideas that you hold right now that people 100 and 1000 years from now will laugh at you for holding. and history has shown that there are many ideas that are laughed at by the majority that turn out to be correct.

besides, a top university is exactly where someone like this should be. 1. he is going to get his ideas challenges. 2. people who don’t care what others believe often do interesting things and make the world a better place.

Randy certainly was a numbskull before he figured it out. Was one of my all time favorite athletes to watch. His 30 for 30 "Rand University" gave some great insight on his transformation from uber-talented arrogant-chip on his shoulder- teenager to well rounded adult.

Also the flat earth documentary is ridiculous. Some people just want to contrarians and have no shame. Thirsty morons that get high off ignorant bliss.

Exactly. All those pictures are fake news.

Come on, really?? Nobody's that dumb and about to enter a fairly elite school, Notre Dame.

I duno, that sounds like a good excuse for someone who said something stupid and then is "lol i'm just trolling".

I would also prefer to be at a place where people have liberal ideas and creative minds who want to change the world rather than own the world.
However, these people have to add, subtract, and understand straightforward.

This is not a 'history has shown type of thing...'. I not would say a top university is 'exactly' where he should be for the reasons stated..
He is going to one of the most homogenous universities around. You can get your mind challenged outside of this fringe top 25/50 college in the country that lacks a large percentage of diversity compared to state university/coastal counterparts.

I want to be a "Bird Truther" now. Now how to make more billboards? WE NEED MORE BILLBOARDS!!!!
I thought all the birds had died crashing into the Vikings' stadium?
