Yeah, the limited athletic ability and shooting ability is dazzling. Will trust Niko though, and hope he sees the floor as much as he did at Tech.
 





Where's the excitement here! There's more talk about who tweeted 1st (spoiler alert, the more Gophers coverage, the better for fans) than this commit!

HUGE pick-up for the Gophers! Nolan Groves averaged 34.1 points, 8.5 rebounds, 6.0 assists, and 3.0 steals per game as a senior. He led the state in scoring. Minnesota Gatorade Player of the Year.

I've heard great things about his character as well, which is great fit for a Medved system!
 



He had 16 rebounds his first game at TTU. He is a talented player. Looking back on the thread from last year there were some funny comments. 60s guy was pretty high on him then. One user said "looks like he didn't settle". I bet he will complain about the commitment this year. A couple mentioned starting a new thread in 11 months/maybe next year.

I think this highlights the importance of recruit not only for today, but for tomorrow. Niko was very high on Groves and that had influence in getting him this year.

Another thing to note about Tony. You don't have to like him, but he cares about the Gophers, he wants to write about them, and he does a better job than some of the writes who don't give a rat about them. So whether you like him or not, lets treat him respectfully. We don't have to make this place a cesspool of hate.

They both care…a lot.

James has about 3 times more followers than Tony. Tony getting it first is big for him. Every outlet should mention “first reported by Tony Liebert” with a reference to the link, as is common in journalism, you’ve all seen it before.

10 years ago, I was doing a podcast with a couple guys, and the 3 of us knew Chad Greenway was going to re-sign with the Vikings for one last run…one guy coached their daughters together with him and they became friends, and he played on our softball team a little…so we all knew him a little…but we kept hitting him up asking for permission to be the first to break the news, because that would have been a HUGE deal for a fledgling podcast, but we couldn’t do it first because we never got permission.

We were doing a show that night and the tension was palpable. It would have really gotten us some exposure.

So yeah, it is a big deal.

But back to the real story, I’m excited by this signing, as others have written, if the staff wants him, I’m happy about the signing.
