It will be fun to see chip play for them. Looks like he is averaging about the same number of minutes there that he he did as a gopher.

LOL. I wonder how many times we'll hear about that from the commentators.
 


I'll always have a soft spot for Chip. He could have been a great player if he would have just been more disciplined and a better decision maker. Would have loved to see what he could do on the football field since he was offered by LSU.
 

Looks like they have no one taller than 6-7 that plays significant minutes. Paging Mo and EE.

He could have been the next Patrick Peterson/Morris Claiborne/Tyrann Matheiu. Probably not but they have had some great DBs at LSU recently and whatever they are doing they are doing it right with them.

Was supposedly offered by LSU yet didn't even have a football recruiting profile on any site.

I really hope we get as good or better of a turnout tomorrow night, although I fear it won't be as full. Sunday to Tuesday is a really quick turnaround, not to mention an 8pm mid-week start time is tough to bring kids to, which there were a lot at yesterday's game. Hopefully more students show up as I believe spring break is now over.

Sorry if I missed this elsewhere, but do we know if they are doing the free tickets thing for students again? In less than 2 months I'm getting my (hopefully) last degree from the U, and it might be fun to be a student at a game one last time.

I believe it was 5,489 for Sunday's game.

I'm guessing around 8,000 for Tuesday.

Southern Miss coach Donnie Tyndall was the head coach at Morehead State when Mathieu failed to get a scholarship after an up-and-down freshman year. But even a taste of revenge on Tuesday would pale in comparison to the young man's first trip to the Big Apple.

"I've never been to New York City but I've got a lot of family there...they're really excited to get us there and show us a good time," Mathieu said. "I'm really excited. Madison Square Garden, they said it's just amazing, just the facilities and everything. So I'm really excited to get there. It's going to mean a lot, just to be playing for a championship. Even though we're not in the main thing, we're going to win this one and hopefully it plays out next year and helps us next year."

I like Chip, but I ain't gonna lie, I hope he has a terrible experience here haha. Okay, maybe he can have a showtime dunk in there somewhere, but we still win by 20. :)

Based on my experience Sunday, buy and print your tickets at home or get there early and plan to wait in line.
