Hopefully Elliot is able to play and Mo and King stay out of foul trouble.

Let's hope Austin continues his scoring prowess and finishes his career with a title in NYC!

Go Gophers!!

Let's grab a championship! I didn't watch much of the SMU vs Clemson game but I'm assuming SMU doesn't have nearly the size that FSU has. I'd love to beat SMU as everyone labeled them as the clear-cut "snub" this year despite their awful schedule.

Absolutely let's win this thing. It might not be the NCAA's but to go out a winner in any tournament is something to be proud of

SMU doesn't scare me as much as Florida State did. Will we have Elliot back?

I want this one since we lost the championship to Stanford two years ago.

Did we open as a 6 point favorite vs SMU?

SMU has been badmouthed for weeks, but all they've done is beat everyone in front of them since Selection Sunday and advance to the NIT final. As Linus said, "I never thought it was such a bad little tree." I think they're going to be the toughest team we've faced in this two-bit tournament.

Nic Moore vs Little Dre is going to be an incredibly fun matchup to watch. I also think Mo will have a monster game... If he stays out of foul trouble. I will say that Markus Kennedy is a big matchup problem for us so hopefully we can get him in foul trouble.

SMU will be very good next year with Mudiay & almost everyone returning.

On Selection Sunday, most of us thought we got snubbed, and most of us laughed at the "paper tigers" from SMU thinking they got snubbed. Well, here comes put up or shut up time.

SMU will be tough, if Elliot doesn't play and they get in foul trouble like they did against FSU I doubt they win.

I hear what you're saying. Who would have thunk the Gophers would win with Mo AND Joey in foul trouble against FSU?

So is this the largest age gap of coaches going head to head for this season? 73-31= 42 (Dang I hope my math is correct.)
Brown is the oldest. I'm going to venture a guess and say it is.

That is really an outrageous margin, he's more than a decade younger than the distance between them. That's gotta be close to a record. Let's hope the new kid shows the old dog new tricks.

I do think they'll have to play a better game tomorrow to get it done, I think SMU's a bit more engaged in this tourney. Dre showed signs of life, it'd be great if he can finally put one together and get a little confidence and momentum going into the offseason.

ulmer If we play SMU like we played Fla. we`ll get creamed. Simply can`t go through those 10 plus min. droughts. Maybe threaten the boys with a mandatory session listening to Knight and his cohorts. Dreadful would be a huge understatement.

Dre Hollins will have to display middle school basketball knowledge tomorrow night. Starting with knowing where the defenders are.

Limit the turnovers and stay out of foul trouble. Watching SMU some yesterday I don't think they are anything to be real scared of and I actually was more concerned about Florida State and dealing with their size. Hope to see Austin continue to stay hot, Mathieu to give us another good game, Andre to clean up the careless turnovers but attack more like he did yesterday, and hopefully get more from Mo/King inside.

Not only not scared but maybe way over-confident? Don't know why, but I'm still hoping Malik can contribute something. Can't forget that Nebraska game, I guess. Still not sure how the Gophers won. At one point I know Buggs, Oto, and Malik were out there with Austin, and I think the 5th guy was Mav.

Not sure what to think. FSU coach did a poor job last night based on their size advantage and our injuries and foul trouble. They made their run but it wasn't enough. The game was totally different when big mo was playing. I have really been impressed with him this second half of the year. I expect SMU to come out fighting and I don't feel confident either way.

I think the Gophers have come a long way with their defense and toughness over the course of the season. As Malik has descended into who knows what and Andre's effectiveness has gone south, the team still looks more capable of winning Big Ten-style games than they did through much of the Big Ten schedule. Hope this carries over to next year.
