This 1st one really got me. There's so much gratitude while being realistic.
This team plays so hard for him. To be short handed and battle back on a 20-4 run to finish the game...love the effort and hustle.

Man, I really wish I wouldn't have turned it off when it got to a 33 point deficit. Just looking at the boxcore, we didnt quit. I was seeing that hustle when the deficit was growing, but it was getting hard to watch. If we can build off that, then we'll be okay. Kai need to be play. He's got something. 7 rebounds from the guard position is impressive. We need to get healthy.

I like Kai and we need to feed off his energy. I also am super impressed with the attitude of Cade Tyson. He is so above and beyond the rest of our roster yet he is hustling and getting everyone involved night after night, regardless of the result. I expected a three point sniper, and this kid has a great looking shot, but he is an all around baller. JCJ needs to live in the paint and become more efficient. I like him as a player but he blows too many possessions trying to do too much.

Get healthy, shots will start falling, and we will get some wins.

Just a bad basketball team. No way to sugarcoat it. Need a talent upgrade. Health does not help at all but they are not good when healthy.

Yeah, I stopped watching at halftime but I picked it up online via the ESPN play-by-play sometime in the second half. Watching them fight back to win the second half convincingly did at least provide a little encouragement and it was nice to see that Shinholster provided a boost in his most extended run of the season.

I think Niko is a heck of a coach. The style of offense he runs is beautiful, and his players are coached soundly to play position defense. That said, I thought the same of Craig Smith, and he didn't get it done at the high-major level.

Time will tell with Medved. I'm going to enjoy the process. If it comes to kissing another frog in a few years, so be it.

A great coach is only as good as the players he coaches. Medved will have to improve the recruiting exponentially, which means he has to have a lot of money in the bag to buy those players. We can't sugarcoat that truth.
But, I agree with you that Niko runs an enjoyable offense with all the movement and back cuts.

He's recruited and developed NBA players at a mid-major. That's impressive. He's not going to become sucky at that overnight.

I agree, but to win in the B1G you have to do much more than get a kid to the NBA. Both Pitino and Johnson can say they put players in the NBA, but they didn't win in the B1G.
I think, and hope, that Niko can get more money to buy better athletes.

I think this is kind of a cop out. We have enough money to be competitive. If we want to turn the corner, we'll need more money, but absolutely no money will come until we are at least capable.

I hope you can admit that it is hard to be capable with the high number of injured players we currently have.
However, I think we can or should admit that Nehemiah Turner seems like a wasted offer at this point.
If we don't have Crocker-Johnson or Vaihola for Wednesdays matchup against Indiana, then I expect us to get drubbed by 30+ points. We are just too small and unable to get rebounds. Grove tries, but he's just tossed around like a rag doll.

For those people complaining, who do you have on your list that Niko missed getting, but should have got?

The U is now basically forced to invest next year. Coyle placed his bet on Niko (he didn't pick Ben) and the crowds are so small that they are losing massive amounts of revenue. They are going to have to jumpstart this thing. I think it is going to get done. I'd much rather put the fundraising efforts into buying players than building a new arena at this point. Win first and then go get the arena funds.

...and there already is more money than last year, not even counting the revenue sharing.

You're yabut-ing your way toward irrationality.

Nah. You are simply trying to compare apples to oranges and not admit that the landscape has changed. Both you and USAF seem to have a need to complain incessantly. It's not for me. I see the differences.
