This is as close to a blank slate as you can possibly get! So it is pretty much going to be a roster he owns from the start. But that is the new landscape of NCAA Basketball.

The cupboard:
Isaac Asuma - if you’re only going to get one returnee you could do a lot worse. CONFIRMED RETURN!!!

Grayson Grove - Alexandria forward, 6’9”, redshirted, good shooter and passer in high school hopefully put some weight on. CONFIRMED

Dawson Garcia - should be out of eligibility! Weird reports about him coming back. Large degree of skepticism here.

CSU players:

Kyan Evans - in portal
Jalen Crocker-Johnson - in portal with a do not contact
Jaden Steppe - in portal

Portal pursuits:

BJ Omot

Ben’s 1 recruit:

Kai Shinholsler had favorable responses on social media to Isaac’s return! So maybe he is on board.

Players in the clubhouse: (this is for golfing18now)
1. Isaac Asuma
2. Grayson Groves
3. Kai Shinhosler (freshman)

Based on their offer lists, I think Jefferson might be the only one at risk of decommitting.
Plus, at big schools it is harder to get a spot. However, after first year it is very easy to transfer. They’d be fools not to stick for a year unless they absolutely cannot work with Niko,

Or Niko doesn’t want them.

Our signees will probably take a back seat to proven qualified transfers, we could retain all of them.

Interested in Rigsby as he did end the season on a high note, with a better coach too he could shine.
I'm all ears on this Dawson situation, let's go!

Were any players at the intro?

Asuma?
Grove?
Rigsby?
GARCIA???

Most kids play for the coach. I suspect none of Ben's recruits to remain. Niko will probably have an entirely new roster from scratch.
Sounds like Jefferson may be interested in staying, but who knows if Niko and staff want to keep. Isaac wants to stay as well, and Grove likely back. Betts and Mitchell told to pursue other options. All this reported numerous places, and have also heard this.

The word on the street is that Iowa and Minn. we’re at the bottom of the B1G 10 with projected payroll of $1.7 for men’s basketball.
Not true. Being reported that Gophers will be in top third of Big Ten for combined revenue sharing and NIL. Yesterday biggest contribution day in history of Dinkytown Athletes.

Watched the press conference, and would probably give it a "7". Didn't knock it out of the park or energize the room very much, but also said the required things and answered questions honestly without cliche. He seemed very genuine and settled into it as the questioning continued. Nice nod to CBJ early on keeping him welcome.

What I didn't hear was that MN athletics moving forward will have a General Mgr. in charge of NIL/$ offers and contracts for players. (Guaranteed, incentive based, cancelled for regression of play or injury, ?)

In the following eventful weeks we will be hearing about non-conf scheduling preferences, portal offers/preferences/visits. I am hopeful that MN will have a more competitive presence on the open market portal for the type of players Niko is looking for, which is...?

Very glad that Medved loves the Barn, and jabbed at Kansas, Dook not having great venues. Granted he didn't complete his sentence, but "...those places are not.." says to me those structures aren't great for ambience due to lack of ghosts.

I am hopeful that the University spends the profit sharing money wisely and budgets basketball appropriately (likely already determined as a requirement for hire). Football needs much more due to the sheer number of players, but there should be a breakdown released at some point in the near future.

Lastly, how many existing players and commits will stay the course perceiving an upgrade in head coach. How many do we want to stay the course? Its all portal related.

Parker posted something after every Gopher win. I especially like this one:

I got to meet Parker and Jacob out at the UCLA game and I asked them straight up and they both told me they were in 100% regardless of who the coach is. Then again Payne told me he wasn’t leaving and a week later he was gone. So you can take that for what it’s worth.
