Many people jumping to conclusions these days and gaslighting.
Pretty tough to read the thumbnail bios and even muster some hope sports has even a sliver of importance or priority to any of them.

Do we know for a fact they are knuckleheads? Are they required to watch a football game?
Hard to know anything for a fact, but I’d rate “watches football” as more of an attribute than anything on their bios. Director of inclusion and an ambassador to Norway. . . yikes.

While these four that Walz just appointed seem to be a bit of a disaster, none of the 12 give much in the way of warm fuzzies as it relates to athletics. Maybe Coyle doesn’t speak to the public much because he’s busy full-time trying to scrape and scrap for whatever he can get. I have to admit that I was more than surprised with the lack of depth and breadth of the majority of this motley crew and admittedly, I guess a guy oughta pay more attention to things like this.

Please elaborate. Disaster, motley crew?

Googled Ellen Luger and saw she "liked" a LinkedIn post about the Axe. All 3 of the new non-student regents are U of M grads so hopefully they understand how important football is.
Ellen’s grandfather Louis Gross played football for the Gophers in the 1920s. She mentioned it at the beginning of her statement before the legislative committee considering regent selection. It’s a family of football fans.

Wow someone actually did some research before forming an opinion. You are rare man these days.

So Google says the U of M budget yearly is $4.2 billion. You look through the bios of these folks they really have no business over seeing an operation of that size much less than an athletic department budget of our size. Who’s to say the reason we don’t have very many eight and nine figure donations coming in the door like other institutions as close as St. Thomas is because who would trust these folks and their limited backgrounds with that kinda money? The next time I get ragged off at Coyle for something I’m gonna give him a pass his day to day probably is very much a struggle. We can’t have one Lou Nanne type or 2 out of the 12? The student choice by Walz got zero votes when the bipartisan legislature committee looked at the list earlier this year; unless I read that wrong. I was thrilled to see the prior poster talk about one of the regent elects having a long family history with Gophers athletics that certainly helps. I’ve always completely disregarded folks when they’ve said that a lot of our athletic struggles are institutional. I thought it was just us having a historic run of bad AD and coaching choices, but perhaps there is more to the story?
