Josh's highlights start around the 6:09 mark. Looks like they are all from the all-star game he just played in. Piper has a few seconds of highlights in the video as well.

Remember when BigGopherFan said Josh Martin wasn't a good athlete? Classic.

Think Patric Young folks. Patric Young.

If you haven't done it already, watch Florida play and you'll see sooo much of what Young P is looking to do here. He doesn't have the roster makeup yet, but I can see the offensive sets are so similar and the style on defense is uncanny.

If this doesn't get you fired up for next year, I'm not sure what will. This kid will be fun to watch.

Nice to see he has a little bit of a mid- range game. In a few years he could be tough to stop

Martin can do things that other guys can't do. He's a talent. I'm pretty stoked we have him coming in.

I guess watching the video I am really interested how he will do playing the PF spot at the Big Ten level. His athletic ability is clear but can he handle playing the PF spot and the banging that will take. He sure looks like he can spend some time at SF but for next season my bigger concern is the PF spot. Joey King has had a couple good games but last night it was against a zone not really tough physical man to man the Big Ten is most noted for.

He will be a fun player to watch. I thought it was strange that he is listed as our lowest rated recruit according to 247.

I think young Josh may be a tad bit motivated by his recruiting service rankings. I can't wait to see this kid play next year.

I have zero concerns about that after watching some other videos. Martin is a strong kid. He looks to me to be about 235 (at least), and he's also aggressive in seeking out contact. I am not worried about the physicality in the B1G and his ability to deal with it.

I agree. Not worried. Probably more physical from the outset than Joey, who was serviceable at PF in B10 play. He'll only get bigger and stronger w/ our S&C coach.

This kid is mobile, appears to be agile and able to move well laterally, and he is physical. I too am not worried about his physical ability. Give him a couple of years in a good S&C program and he will be a load. I know it is a highlight film, but his midrange jumper looks pretty good.

Martin's tape reminds me of watching Nigel Hayes' tape last year. Extremely athletic, strong, quick leaper, and very smooth form on the J. I was wondering at the time why all of the "experts" rated Hayes only a 3*, and I just figured I must not know anything.

Hayes being extremely athletic and very smooth form on the Jumper? Nigel is one of my favorite Badger players but the way he gets it done is by being strong, krafty, and smart.

Yeah, Hayes isn't athletic like Martin. Hayes is more of a throwback 4-man. Good post player (like Bucky said, Krafty, smart, strong etc.) with a solid midrange shot.

Hopefully Martin is an underrated 3-star like Hayes though.

Indeed. I really like Martin...think he can be a solid contributor in his first year.

Who are the bangers in todays Big Ten at PF? We don't really have guys like Green, Sullinger or Mbakwe who are beasts in the paint. The game is evolving. Vonleh, Payne, Hayes are all hybrid 4's who aren't all that strong. I think Josh will be more than capable of playing the four in the big ten.

+1 I've been saying this since we signed him. The B1G doesn't have a lot of bullies in the post right now. Mo is actually one of the more powerful guys in the post on offense. A lot of the other "post" players in the conference like to stretch the floor more than post up.

Hayes and Vonleh aren't all that strong? That's news to me.

Payne and Vonleh will be gone, but Hayes is definitely a beast. He's strong, quick, and crafty and a matchup nightmare for us this year. He'll be even better next year so hopefully Martin can put in some decent minutes against him if we don't get a transfer PF.

Hayes is a beast for a true freshman. Has the frame to bulk up too.

Give martin a year of college weight training and another year of growth and development and he will be a beast at power forward as a sophomore

Before we get all excited, let's not forget that even the great Patric Young only averaged 3.4 ppg and 3.8 rpg his freshman year. I would consider that a solid freshman year as long as he continued to improve.
