It seems the Gopher trend in uniform design has been trending in the direction of “eliminate the gold” for the duration of Fleck’s tenure and the elimination of gold helmets and the addition of black helmets continues the trend.

Please give me Kill-era uniforms any day. This continued assault on gold in favor of black and white is what it is. Love the team, Disliking the uniforms.

What does that have to do with Gopher uniforms and how they have changed during Fleck’s tenure?

The university hasn’t reduced/eliminated its main color, the football team has done so on its uniform kits. Gold pants are still available, but gold numbers were eliminated 5 years ago and gold helmets were lost last year.

And this isn’t just another old guy complaining about change. I do enjoy the varied helmets, have no problem with black uniforms, etc. I just think the uniforms under Kill were much better and I have found it curious that gold has been reduced considerably on the uniforms. The guys on the “Eyes on B1G” podcast were just talking about the same thing this week.
 

Maybe the two different gold helmets return for 2023. Sure beats the white ones.
I really like the maroon helmets they’ve been wearing lately. It’s a cool kind of pearly matte that looks great to my eye.
All that said, the black helmet looks pretty cool. I just hope they don’t overuse it.

I def loved Kill's unis! I still wear a Cobb jersey to some games.

I liked the uniforms during the Kill era, too. This was a greta look:

I haven't liked the white numbers with the new uniforms and am just kind of meh on the black jerseys/helmets.
 

Looks black with metalic maroon. I'm assuming will go with black uniforms for when they wear them. Just win baby!

Love the tie into the Masonic Children's night. This is a large part of why I love college football, Fleck and the Gophers! My daughter is on her second journey to get a second transplant and the service and expertise that Masonic and Children's provide is unbelievable.

Best of luck to your daughter. Cannot imagine the strength and bravery she displays—along with so many others facing these battles. My one experience with Children’s was such an overwhelming positive.
