And Coach was planning to be there to see it.Coach P's daughter Lexi and her Grand Valley State team are the Division 2 national champions! Congrats to Lexi.
Congrats to TCU and coach Mark Campbell. Great coach and even a better person. Glad that HVL and Sedona finally found a good coach at the end of their careers. Much better than the ND coach, Niele Ivey, a different story over there. ego maniac.71-62 TCU and Van Lith outduel Miles, Hidalgo and the Irish
Saw one wnba mock draft With the Lynx taking Sedona. If that is the case, a much needed body in the middle opening thing up for Phee.Congrats to TCU and coach Mark Campbell. U r way off base here. I am a life long Irish fan- Mom is 100%. I have followed Coach Ivey since her playing days and watched her win a Natty in St. Louis. She is bright, talented, humble and a woman of faith. In other words the opposite of an ego maniac.Congrats to TCU and coach Mark Campbell. Great coach and even a better person. Majority of players always say positive things about coaches to the outside for fear of retaliation - duh. The AAU coaches, former ND players (especially transfers), and family members have told me the countless issues with Ivey. Don't give me that humble BS. That is simply not the truth. Go find a previous ND player and ask them in private... they don't say anything positive. It's not a good environment.U r way off base here. I am a life long Irish fan- Mom is 100%. Listen to the 8 players who now play in the WNBA talk about her as a recruiter , coach n human being because she is a class act. Sedona Prince is a 7th year player with 3 domestic abuse charges against her. She was not convicted but the details are disturbing. HVL outplayed Hidalgo n ND shot 25% with TCU shooting 50% n that is the story of the game.
No thanks. She sounds like a POS.Saw one wnba mock draft With the Lynx taking Sedona. If that is the case, a much needed body in the middle opening thing up for Phee.
I guess. Sad to see the legacy BIG teams revert to second tier, at best.UCLA means at least one B1G* team in the final four...
So U have spoken 1:1 with previous players ? If true , good for U. I have only spoken to players at fund raisers and at Lynx parties. I have spoken in small group settings to Coach Ivey. No doubt every coach has their fans and their detractors. Her ability to recruit high level players to a college with an average SAT of 1500 n a graduation rate of 95% does show she gets great student athletes. I have never met a successful coach who didn’t have a healthy ego .Majority of players always say positive things about coaches to the outside for fear of retaliation - duh. Some coaches invite trashing by their behavior, you know, like Bobby Knight and Dan Hurley. Not a fan of coaches trashing other coaches, as someone on this forum seems to do often. Not a good look.
Most coaches are one of one and have a culture they don’t deviate from.So U have spoken 1:1 with previous players ? If true , good for U. 9 players played 15 min or more in the game. 7 between 21 to 27 minutes.Always been a fan of Dawn Staley . Watching this team among all their talents it is amazing how deep her bench is and how well they all can play.
I recall the post game interview with Staley after they beat Iowa & CC saying if you want to be superstar, South Carolina is not for you.Always been a fan of Dawn Staley . Watching this team among all their talents it is amazing how deep her bench is and how well they all can play.
How she handled Fulwiley was a master class on leadership. Fulwiley was acting like she was the super star n Staley sat her down n didn’t start her for some games. She exemplifies the sum is greater than the individual parts.I recall the post game interview with Staley after they beat Iowa & CC saying if you want to be superstar, South Carolina is not for you.
The Dawn Staleys and Geno Auriemmas of the world can do that and get away with it most of the time, once they have established that they are elite coaches. The hard part is working your way into that position and kudos to them they were able to do it.How she handled Fulwiley was a master class on leadership. Agree with your point about Staley’s great handling of her players, including Fulwiley. But not sure about your story about sitting her down and not starting her for some games. FWIW, Fulwiley has started 0 games this year, and only 3 last year, none in the SEC or NCAA tourneys, and only 1 in conference play. How she handled Fulwiley was a master class on leadership. But Fulwiley was playing a lot more minutes before that, last year, so much so that I had her on my fantasy roster. After that point, I dropped her because she wasn’t getting meaningful minutes.Agree with your point about Staley’s great handling of her players, including Fulwiley. You are correct. I was thinking of her freshman year but her minutes have been about the same. My point was more around how a 3 time NCAA championship coach handles her star players.Agree with your point about Staley’s great handling of her players, including Fulwiley.
