UCONN crushing South Carolina in the national championship.
Shout out to Minnesota WBB GOAT Paige Bueckers!
 

Geno Auriemma putting on a coaching clinic and making South Carolina and Dawn Staley look like they don't even belong in the national championship. SC players all resorting to one on one, looking foolish.
 


Personally, over the years my feelings about Geno have really changed. From being not able to stand him when he first starting winning championships, I now really admire him and find myself pulling for UConn whenever they're playing. He really seems to have mellowed and no doubt that his feelings for his players are genuine. That hug for Paige was awesome.

Agree, I hated that Paige went there mostly because of Geno. He seems less arrogant now and more of an advocate of WBB or maybe I was wrong all along. Now Mulkey hasn’t grown on me one bit. Congratulations to Paige and UCONN Huskies.
 

Connecticut had significantly more talent than every team in the country. Strong and Bueckers were the two best players in the country, yes better than JuJu. If you could pick any single player to start a team around, it's Strong, not Bueckers, and this is coming from someone who believes Bueckers will have a better career than Clark.

It took some adversity and the 1st win against South Carolina to bring the team together.

Fudd really found herself the 2nd half of the year.

I expected Connecticut to win by 15. But, they were just too good.
 

Congrats to Paige "Buckets" getting a National Championship. UCONN is a class act organization, never a doubt that is where she belonged. Minnesota great winning it all! GOAT

I had a hard time with her interview about Whalen. She saw her as a legend and said she had a poster of her in her room. She could have been our CC and think about what the potential was to attract other top talent like CC did @ IO. MN has lost way too many men / women’s elite players to other teams. I hope Coach P can reverse that trend…..

Paige will need to get stronger… UCLA and South Carolina played good one on one defense against her… Clark is quicker and stronger than Paige when they both entered the draft… Clark realized she had to get stronger after one year in the W… Paige is Paige she will figure it out… Is this considered a weak WNBA draft?? Thanks

Clark has 3 problems.

She has no defense, she has no left hand, and she's loose with the ball. Way too many poor shot choices and turnovers.

Bueckers will have an easier time fitting into a team and finding her role.

You are right, though. She's not strong enough yet.

So clarify for me. Paige will be better than Clark in the WNBA ? … I was confused by Paige fitting in and finding her role…. Thanks

I like Paige as a player, competitor and the way she carries herself as a person more than Clark but she has some catching up to
do .. IMO..

Paige was the third best player on her team both games this past weekend and had problems taking anyone off the dribble..

And yet Clark made first team all WNBA, the first rookie since Candace Parker to do so (5th since 2000). Not bad with all the problems you see. Agree that Paige will have an easier time because she won't face the backlash that Clark faced.
 

Clark and Bueckers are each making more money than all the WNBA rosters combined with all their endorsement deals. That's why all the other players are so jealous. They have all the money and fame. However, they will raise the salaries and increase opportunities for others in the WNBA. Without Clark and Bueckers, there would be low interest in the WNBA.
