National Signing Day

And it shows none of the 3 have signed with Penn St.
Probably best if they hire the interim coach right now. This can't hurt Minnesota's chances in Happy Valley next year. I wonder how many current players will enter the portal.

Guessing he won't try that route again. Wonder if big NIL money suddenly showed up.
Thankfully as I fan I can foster a “scorched earth” type of deep hatred for Huthinson CC. Unfortunately I don’t think Fleck can also do that. I’d rather take other FBS transfers but that JUCO line needs to stay open.

Here is an update Stan!

We took two of the top 3 players out of Wisconsin.

Buckys top get, whom they thought was solid......just flipped.

You're welcome Stan.
Minnesota treats Wisconsin like in state recruiting. Take that Bert!

I think this is the best HS class PJ has ever signed? Based on the past few years of 247 rankings, a highschool class with a total score of ~225 should rank in the top 30 even after the later signing date. If PJ pulls in a transfer class ranked similar to last year (29 overall), this might be his first class to break into the upper 20s... hopefully it translates to on field performance as well...

If people don't acknowledge that PJ's recruiting is light years ahead of Mason and Kill they just don't like PJ....
5-6 of these guys would have been headliners for Mase or Kill.
I like to look at the other offers these guys had and about 90% of them had big-time other offers and choose Minnesota. That tells me more than stars.
Once upon a time, getting a last second flip from a guy that had offers from 2 teams likely in the top 12 in the country would have made headlines. Now it's almost ho-hum.
I don't like a lot of his game management decisions, but PJ is doing amazing things with the resources he's got.

Kill intentionally chased "Hidden" gems with mostly G5 offers.

Kill was good at finding under the radar players that fit his systems. But like Mason he rarely went to battle with other power 4/5 schools for players and in the case of a lot of recruits we were far and away their best offer.

It was fun to read PJ’s comments about each players on GI. Fun facts:
  • One recruit’s mother mailed PJ a pan of homemade mac and cheese.
  • Another recruit’s little brother asked more questions in PJ’s office than the recruit himself or his parents.
  • Another has a sister who goes bowling daily.
  • Another is on the surfing team at school (you can probably guess that one).

He is approaching year 10, hard to compare recruiting from 10 to 20 years ago in my opinion. This does appear to be a very good Minnesota class. Probably ranks second to dare I say Brewsters one supposed top 5 Big Ten Class. Goes to show you still have to coach them up.

Would be 5th without the left coast’s entry’s. So dang good.

The ‘16 recruiting class turned out OK!? Always a little bit of revisionist history on here.
