National Championship Game

Hold your horses. If this is anything like the WWF, while his old man is being awarded the trophy, Richard is going to walk up to his dad like he's going to hug him, pull a fast one and bodyslam him, followed by a leg drop, then rip off the Louisville shirt to reveal a Gopher shirt as he walks out the building with the trophy in hand.

A candidate for GopherHole Post of the Year Award. Well played.

I've heard 15 seconds is what all the ladies want nowadays.:cool02:

Mo was watching the game hooked up to a respirator. Strap in, young man.
The Gophers may know that the off season conditioning program starts TODAY.

Shouldn't he be wearing a gopher shirt?

I knew someone was going to mention that but thankfully there doesn't seem to be a lot of outrage around him having the audacity to show up wearing the team colors of the team his DAD is coaching in the National Championship Game. Suppose he could of had something U of M related on as well but I have zero issue with him supporting his Dad's team last night.

Nice for the U to get a little pub about the hiring during the game.

Awesome post....that would have been the coolest thing ever! lol

I was a little conflicted last night about who I wanted to win. Michigan continuously beats us which drives me nuts.......but it would have been nice to see a B10 team win and shut the critics up. On the other hand, I like Pitino and it's nice that we got a little recognition last night. Plus I had Louisville winning the NC. I took second place in my bracket challenge.....lost by one point......

I do have a little problem that didn't have any U stuff on. I do understand that he is rooting for his father and several of the players he has coached. But he is the coach for the University of Minnesota and he should at least acknowledge that by wearing something from the U, at least a lapel pin. Can you imagine any other coach of a major D1 program just going to the game decked out as a fan for one of the two teams and not show any representation for the school they lead. Did the U pay for his trip to the game? I don't want to start anything, I am behind coach P 100%, I just though it was a rookie mistake.

From the shots I saw you could tell he was wearing a red shirt, not sure I would call that decked out by any stretch of the imagination. In the video I saw (and I didn't see it all) I couldn't tell if the shirt even had any Louisville logos or markings on it. Also I don't know that you can assume he didn't have any U of M stuff with him.

He was there as a member of the Pitino family and to support his Dad. I don't take it as a shot to the U that he didn't have obvious MN gear on during the shots of him in the stands....he wasn't there to promote the U of M he was there to watch his dad go for the National Championship. I see this as different then just a D1 coach going to a game and supporting a different team....the family connection changes all of that, at least in my eyes.
