My personal opinion of TCU

I was wrong on TCU.
I also thought their schedule was tougher than it is. To this point the gophers are the second best record they have played against. (Texas tech is 5-3)

Unfortunately for us, we were their bad game. Since then, TCU has scored 45 to 70 points each game. Until TCU loses, I wouldn't say anything too negative about them.

They gave up 52 to solid Tech
45 and 37 to average Kansas State and SMU.

I'll grant you that TCU's defense has been bad but for two games (TX and us). However, their offense has been exceptional except for one game (I won't say who). Do I think TCU can beat a team like OSU or Bama, I doubt it. They may still lose a couple of games in a weak conference but until they do, I don't care if they win 63-60 or 6-3. I'll take wins anyway any day. 7-0 is 7-0 and until someone out scores them, I wouldn't count them out.

For what it's worth, TCU might be more banged up on defense than our Gophers. Now that's banged up.

Interestingly, their pathway got significantly easier with Baylor QB going down. Will be interesting to see how the committee ranks them when the rankings finally roll out

I do think TCU will go 8-4.
I see them finishing 3rd or 4th in the big 12 behind Oklahoma, Baylor, and possibly Oklahoma state.

Really hard to do what they did last year again.

Wouldn't be surprised if I was wrong. But I do think they will have a down year compared to last year.

Although now that I just thought through this I probably should have said 9-3
Maybe I spoke too soon when I said I was wrong

Well they will win at least 9 for sure as they still play Kansas in a few weeks.

Doctson out really hurts today but Boykin just looks bad.

I am starting to think Oklahoma or Oklahoma state wins the conference

Do they beat Baylor?

i wasnt right on TCU, but i was closer than many on them i think.

Because of the injuries to their two best players I don't think there is any way to know for sure.

Injuries are a part of the game.
My own rationale for saying they wouldn't be as good this year is that is is hard to catch lightning in a bottle two years in a row. Injuries are part of why it is hard. Everything went right for them last year 12-1, not everything did this year and I suspect they'll be 9-3 and 10-3 after bowl season.

If they beat Baylor it means that they split the difference between conventional wisdom and me.

Feel for TCU. I was hoping they would make a national title this year, but their defensive losses and injuries held them back. Was surprised they hung so tough against Oklahoma, I would just love to see them upset Baylor this weekend.

I get that. But most people make predictions on what the team will do with their best players.

Looks like I was wrong on TCU officially now
