I heard he didn't travel with the team, anyone know what's up with that?

The coaches are clearly very low on him. Kill has talked up about 10 guys at receiver this year and I don't remember him ever mentioning Moulton's name.

Moulton actually looked very good during the open practices, he did not drop a lot of balls. No idea after they closed practices.

Moulton, Cobb, Keise, and Jacques are all surprising omissions to the travel squad to me. Anybody know why other than the coaches like 70 other people better?

For the receivers, it was pretty obvious that we have some good talent w/ Barker, DCT, Engel, Maye, Fruechte, etc. Moulton dropped way too many passes last year, and I don't think Keise has a single career reception. It looked like the best guys were playing. The rumor on Cobb is that he has had troubles pass blocking, but again, I was impressed with the way Kirkwood and Gillum ran the ball. Kirkwood ran w/ an attitude every time he touched it. As for Jacques, I have no idea. You would think a junior who played quite a bit last year would be in a position to get minutes over a true freshmen like Ekpe, but obviously the coaches see it differently.

Could be suspended / ineligible, but the team isn't talking about it.

If some of these guys appear in week 5 (5 or 3 in the future), I think you may have a nine-hour rule issue.

Could be any number of reasons, though.

Well, they felt the need to take 3 punters on the trip, so someone had to stay home.

3 . Punters . Traveled .

?....

Guess the nine-hour rule hasn't been a hot topic around here, huh?

Last year it was adopted... but the impact could easily be 'hidden' until this fall (and some schools will successfully hide the impact altogether).

FB players now must successfully complete nine credit hours in the fall (previously, six would cut it). If they do not, they are suspended for 4 games the following year. However, if they complete 27 credit hours for the year (including summer sessions [after the spring semester, or for a first-year student, also including the summer sessions before the initial fall classes begin]) then they get back games 3 and 4. In addition, there is a one-time exception that allows them to get back all 4 games if they complete the 27 credit hours.

You'd really hope this wouldn't be an issue at many schools, but it's certainly a possibility. In some cases, coaches may not know if the kid is going to get back the 4 games until summer session results are available, just before the season begins... would be interesting to know how big of an issue this becomes for college programs and how many kids get suspended, but then get games back... not sure that type of information will be available for years (if ever), though...

I gotta believe he'd at least have made the traveling roster. This is interesting. Did the two freshmen kick him off? Will he be back if Harbison is out for the year?

Today Malcolm got a tattoo on his neck. Decisions like this are just a glimpse into why he didn't make the traveling roster. He can barely write english words and seems pretty focused on his tough guy image.

You determined all this from a tattoo on his neck?? That's asinine!!!

You expect something you read on an internet message board not to be asinine? Now that, is asinine.

We all know that there aren't any NFL quality football players with bad tattoos.

Great insight!

I thought I got a tatoo on my buttocks one time.

It turned out to just be a Texas Bullseye.

It's not going to be announced, but Moulton is out for the first two games. He will be back for Week Three.
