You're certain they are faster than Spencer, Crooms, and Jackson? Can they catch a deep ball? Run routes? (speaking more about Hoskins and Lanier)Maybe should bring in Brockington, Hoskins and possibly Lanier on deep patterns. They would provide more speed.
I can't say I've even really seen us set up to throw a "shot" play. One of my gripes with the offense so far. Use ALL the field, not just the 20 to 25 yard chunk you're on. Even when we went "max protect" a couple times this week they were still intermediate crosser routes (with 2 guys in the route like its the 70s).Maybe should bring in Brockington, Hoskins and possibly Lanier on deep patterns. They would provide more speed.
...To run towards the inaccurate deep throws, right?Maybe should bring in Brockington, Hoskins and possibly Lanier on deep patterns. They would provide more speed.
We know for sure Hoskins is faster than Jackson, Spencer, and Crooms? Are you looking at high school track numbers? Jackson claimed a 4.50 40 in high school and I saw at least one track time of Jackson's faster than Hoskins.Hoskins for sure is faster and Brockington looks faster to me when he’s in the game. Lanier has been called another Bateman and you know Bateman was fast.
You're right, but I'm not sure all deep balls are intended to be completed (the offense wants that outcome of course) but to see how the defensive backs react. I believe Nebraska saw something in the Gopher defense that gave them the idea a throwback to the quarterback would work and they were right although being Nebraska they tried to screw it up.Brockington has been out there a lot.
With AKs on and off “touch”, I’m not sure more deep throws are very high % calls.

My point is, maybe Hoskins is fast, but also the other guys? And if they know how to catch a ball, run routes, block, take a hit, etc., they are going to get playing time over Hoskins.
Curious how Tyler Johnson, bateman, and decker would fit in those ranges.Daniel Jackson

I don't think they planned for opening up the passing game more than needed to win these last two games. I do think UNC is the right opponent to open it up more like Wisconsin game.I can't say I've even really seen us set up to throw a "shot" play. One of my gripes with the offense so far. Yes. I don't know the play count, but he has been rotated in both games.Has Spencer even been playing? Didn't get to watch much of the last game. So far he's produced way below what I was expecting.
