Wasn't Birdman banned for meth
What McGary did is against the policy of the NCAA in EVERY state.
Just like it is against the policy in the MLB, NBA, NFL, and NHL for every player in every state.
It's not mine!
Good news for the B1G. Mcgary will be fine, If he played this year he wouldn't have even thought about coming back, good luck in the NBA.
I don't believe the precise identity of the substance was ever revealed. To my knowledge, Anderson never revealed it because he never admitted the violation. The league has a list of controlled substances. It includes the usual recreational drugs and performance enhancing drugs.
Nonsense! Although first time offenders may get off with a brief suspension and fine, repeat offenders are banned for significant periods. Just ask Chris "Birdman" Anderson who was banned for two years.
The idea some people have that the NBA is loaded with unchecked hoodlums just isn't based on reality. Perhaps things may loosen up a bit now that there is a new commissioner, but Stern ruled player conduct in the NBA with an iron hand.
You're ill-informed. Multiple NBA players have said that the majority of players in the league smoke weed. Baron Davis estimated the number at 80%. Moreover, the NBA's drug testing policy is a complete sham. Players are randomly tested four times during the season, and twice during the off-season. After the fourth test, the player may not be tested again. Thus, if a player is tested four times in November, that player may not be tested again until the off-season so that player may do as many drugs as he likes (PEDS or non-PEDs) without fear of repercussion for months. Players in the NBA simply game the system. They all know not to do drugs until their tests are done, and then they are free to party.
He should have left last season. His stock was never going to be higher. He was a lotto pick
last year.
I'd like to see the Oregon Ducks entire basketball and football teams get tested for MJ during post season play. It will be interesting to see the results.
Perhaps we should make crossing the street illegal sometimes bad things happen. No really drinking booze and gambling are good... I think we should wire our press and elected officials with remote controlled tazers that fire at 60 percent disapproval...
Have a smoke, a drink and remember it is a gamble to cross the road…

The Pioneer Press had the story today. Take a look at their picture. Neither player featured is McGary.

I asked a coach at the NY2LA Sports tournament this past weekend, if he could name another player who was suspended for a year after a positive drug test during the NCAA tournament. He said that he could only think of one. The player played high school basketball in Minnesota. My question is to Gopher Hole readers is Name that player? I'll give clues if necessary.
