I understand that college football is more of a business and less of a game, so I see your point, sort of. And it appears that 20 will be honored on Senior Day, not just the 13 listed on the roster, so he gets a nice sendoff. And maybe they think it is more fair to him to tell him last week so that he can register for more Spring semester classes and graduate in May, if he wasn't already on track to do so. But he's still your #2 QB, and if something happens to ML7 in the next 3 games, it seems like a pretty tough spot to put the kid into, for confidence reasons. If he's good enough to get a scholarship last spring, I just think it's classier to honor it until he completes his eligibility. Fine, he's not going to be the starter, but he could run the scout team. And get a year of grad school under his belt while on scholarship as his reward for all his hard work and the expense of being a walk on for 3 years with the program. Pollyanna that I am.
