Minnesota/Wisconsin Pre-Game Thread

@FSNtylermason: #Gophers LB Mike Rallis, on rivalry with #Badgers: "If you don't ever win, it's not really a rivalry."

Go Gophers!!

Uhh... what?

Is this Mike Rallis kid a leader on your team? Is this common behavior on this whole Jerry Kill team? Unreal...

Frankly, I'm not sure. But in case you haven't noticed, we aren't exactly blessed with quality leadership around here currently, starting from the top all the way down.

What the *&^!#*&^!#*&^!#*&^!#?

Finally someone at the University who says "The Emperor has no clothes." Rallis is right on the money. Until the Gophers start to win games against Wisconsin and Michigan those so-called "rivalry" games are nothing more than two teams laughing at their little baby brother. Minnesota has to pick it up if they want those games to be considered rivalry games.

That being said, I hope to see the beginning of a renewed rivalry on Saturday with a Gophers victory.

Wait...so you're glad this guy is bringing this kind of attitude to your team's locker room? What is wrong with you people?

One person = you people?

I don't know, I don't see a whole lot of disagreement with it and it is quite an outragious statement. I would think most places would be tearing that kind of attitude a new one. Especially 4 days before the team is expected to compete and be victorious in said rivalry game. If this is unacceptable, you ought to call it out. Pretty basic cultural cornerstone to any program. Day 1 stuff.

Yes I'm glad. Rallis is shaming every person in that locker room for being weak and unwilling to meet the challenge that Wisconsin and Michigan represent. If the kids at MN want to make those games a rivalry then they have to quit playing like "Little sisters of the poor" and man up! That is what Rallis is saying. He's calling people out to step up and play. I have no complaints about Rallis comments. It's about time someone called a spade a spade.

Ya, I'm okay with that quote. It's about time somebody steps up and says something to light a fire. We haven't won the jug in Minneapolis since 1977, and have won it once, ONCE since then. It's not that much different for the axe.

Kudos to Rallis for saying what everyone else is thinking. Now, go play a competitive football game and make us proud. I'm not even asking for or expecting a win at this point. Just play with a little heart.

CBS: Minnesota Golden Gophers at Wisconsin Badgers: Preview, prediction, TV info

The game comes down to: How effective Montee Ball is against the Gophers front seven. If Ball rushes like he did last weekend against Purdue, it puts Stave at ease and opens up the play-action pass to tight end Jacob Pedersen or to Abbrederis. Minnesota's defense needs to keep the game close because its offense can't keep up with the Badgers.

Prediction: Wisconsin 41, Minnesota 17

Go Gophers!!

http://btn.com/2012/10/16/week-8-we-predict-all-six-big-ten-games/

Minnesota (4-2, 0-2) at Wisconsin (5-2, 2-1) – noon ET, ESPNU

Tom’s pick: Wisconsin, 44-14 – The Badgers have it rolling, as the offense has come alive and rediscovered its right cross (physical ground game). Conversely, the Golden Gophers have looked sluggish on both sides of the ball in losing two straight. Swing that axe, Bucky!

Brent’s pick: Wisconsin, 38-13 – The Wisconsin offense is back on track, and now Montee Ball and company face a defense that’s surrendered an average of 195 rushing yards in two Big Ten games.

Not sure if it was posted elsewhere or if there is news on his injury but Claeys said something on the Gopher football show like, "if their tackles lose their inside discipline here, Q might run for a first down". Seemed like a slip - either that or it is subterfuge. Anyone else notice this?

Tweet: "Former Badger @bmw2532 on what he'd tell the #Badgers prior to Sats game vs #Gophers - "Go try and break the scoreboard on these guys."

Go Gophers!!
