Minnesota 2025-2026

In the insanely early, pre-season bracketology, Charlie Creme has the Gophers as an 8 seed. 13 B1G teams in the field.

just tossing it out here.. but Amaya is 153 assists away from becoming the ALL TIME ASSIST leader in Gopher history.

I know THERE are plenty on this board that doesn't believe or think she is a good PG.. but this is pretty impressive
I think it will take until next year for the non=believers to realize how good she is.

Amaya Battle is a good point guard, not sure where the above mentioned perception is coming from. A lot of us fans actually appreciate the impact she has had on the Gophers.

BIG announced 2025-26 TV schedule for BIG-affiliated networks (Fox, FS1, NBC, Peacock & BTN) today. Not a lot of exposure for the Gophers. 1 game on FS1, 6 on BTN. Another year listening to a lot of aspiring student broadcasters. Also, Gophers' pre-season tourney is on FloHoops.

Think it's possible that Gopher games at Kansas and Drake could be on an ESPN network, especially the Kansas game. The November 19 D-1 lineup is pretty weak. Minnesota-Kansas one of the better games on Nov. 19.

Perception is probably coming from those randoms who complain that she shoots too much (even though Dawn P has mentioned a few times that they want her to look for her shots) she dribbles too much (more than 3 dribbles disrupts the flow of the offense, as opposed to setting up more options as often as not), and seem to think that any type of athletic move to create a shot is just setting yourself up for a turnover. You know; the "One mistake erases 10 positives" crowd. Sometimes that one mistake actually IS a turning point, but some folks believe that EVERY mistake erases 10 positives. Not to mention the fans for whom, "If it doesn't look like the style I believe in, then it's a mistake".

From what I've seen, if Amaya isn't scoring, distributing and defending at a very high level, the Gophers pretty much struggle. When she is doing 2 of the 3 effectively, the Gophers are a pretty good team. Remember, other than keeping GG from getting good looks from outside, Amaya has been at the top of every teams scouting report for the past 2 seasons. I'm pretty happy with what I see her doing on the court; overall she's very solid and sometimes spectacular; and she seems like a pretty put together person off the court as well.

And, that whole broadcast schedule is in a separate thread so it doesn't get lost here.

Must already have the all time turnover record then?
