Righteous does.Righteous bucks.
Nothing, but it would be much harder in football due to the number of players and the nature of hte game. I fully expect this to happen in basketball very soon.It is amazing how much influence one rich person can have on all of college football now. What's stopping someone from giving a massive amount of money to be used for NIL in a year or a short period so the program can just buy the best of the best?
Soon? The LifeWallet guy already did it with Miami a couple years ago.Nothing, but it would be much harder in football due to the number of players and the nature of hte game. I fully expect this to happen in basketball very soon.
100%.....way harder to buy your way to a title in football, not impossible, but harder. The number of players plus injuries makes it really difficult.Nothing, but it would be much harder in football due to the number of players and the nature of hte game. That makes the donation amount make more sense. They are doing a Billion$$ campaign for facilities. I believe about $290 of this is for athletics. They want to update the stadium and other facilities.

Like the Ryans with Northwestern, and the Andersons with St. Thomas, if you donate a building to a college, it's good for tax purposes. If you just give a bunch of money to pay players, it's less so I think. That makes the donation amount make more sense.
It’s only a matter of time. They’ve got F1, big time soccer, and a golf league, so it’s VERY likely they’ve already approached NCAA conferences. If that doesn’t get a foot in the door, they’ll go for an individual football or basketball program and throw a few hundred mill at it for naming rights, court/field branding, etc.I think someone joked about this before but you almost have to wonder how long until a college team is bought/funded by the Saudis. It's happening in pro soccer already.
Would Gopher fans be cool if we renamed the stadium "Saudi Oil Stadium" if it got us a championship? It’s only a matter of time.
