Just browsing the internet to see what MSU fans are saying about us for next week and found this thread on mGoBlog of Michigan fans mentioning about one of their own transfers (Chuck Filiaga), talking trash about our seniors, but most shockingly about PJ’s character/past.

Some info about PJ that I’ve never heard or knew about. I know PJ was in the state of Michigan so residents of Michigan probably knew more about his background. I guess we, Minnesotans, really don’t know much about PJ’s personal history.

I love our coach and as long as he is winning and taking care of our players, who cares about his past. It’s just interesting that how much we really don’t know about his personal past.

I love the fact that the Wolverine fans seem to be hearing our footsteps, even if it's just a little bit.

Hey, Michigan: you're not worried about little ol' Minnesota, are you? Come on! You guys are B1G royalty. We're beneath your notice. Focus on Ohio State. Pay no attention to us.

I don't see anything there that people haven't said before. Same speculation/rumors as when we hired him.

Found the read entertaining. Stuff that’s all been said before other than the part about PJ using his wife to lap dance closes. That was interesting lol. Otherwise a typical response from fans who think they are great. I did find them ripping on the academics stupid, because it’s not hard to look up and see the Gophers football team is highly rated there.

Oops, should we tell them that their behind us or let them continue to think with their arrogance that they are better there too? I’ve heard that they are that type of fan base, I guess not everyone can be like the Nebby base.

If you tell them about University academics, please use the correct "they're, their, there" as to not blow the entire argument up based on simple 6th grade grammar

I also didn’t know that Heather was a “stripper” or did Michiganders just assume that because she looks great and is well endowed?

Nothing new to see on Coach Fleck. He's first to admit that loss of his child severely impacted him, his former wife, and family.

As for general football knowledge, Minnesota is not on their radar by being in The West. It is unfortunate that playing for The Jug has just not maintained its historic prominence as has The Axe and The Pig.

If there is to be something positive out of becoming a super-conference down the road, it would be great if playing Michigan more often could be part of it. Unlikely, but still worth a thought.

The whole Michigan blog is rich, considering their hockey coach was just fired for promoting a toxic work environment. The AD then tried to keep him around. Pot meet kettle. All, and I mean all, have their problems to deal with.

It’s just interesting that how much we really don’t know about his personal past.
I don’t think you ”know” anything about Fleck from reading the information at the link you posted, except that some keyboard warriors from Michigan have re-posted rumors about a guy they don’t like. It’s pretty much the same things anyone who pays attention has heard since his WMU days—he’s a phony, it’s all about him, he cheated on his wife, Heather is trashy, etc.

Michigan fans report that Michigan St fans have some serious “little man” or “little brother” syndrome.

When I bother to look most fanbases have respect for MN and what Fleck has accomplished. MN is no longer viewed as a doormat. Same here. The internet stories are at minimum 90+% made up BS. Have we not learned to be extremely suspicious of exaggerated or made up evidence-free claims and anecdotes when considering possible motive. This goes for any coach, most recently Frost. I doubt any of them are as good or as bad as they seem to be.

Annnnnd.... you nailed it. Take anything you read on a fan board with a grain of salt.

As for me, a person's private life and/or marital situation is none of my business. I only make exceptions when the person in question is someone who pontificates, or dictates to everyone else how to run their relationships/love life. If they fall short of their own preachings, then I think it is okay to point out the hypocrisy.

I love the fact that the Wolverine fans seem to be hearing our footsteps, even if it's just a little bit.

Objects in side mirror are closer than they appear.

See, I’ve never heard of or read those points about PJ before. Therefore, my point, we don’t really know about our coach personally that much. Don’t matter if we do or don’t know about his past or whether these internet bashing contains any truths as long as our team is being taken care of and our U is being represented the right manner, which they all are.

We are not playing the Wolverines next week, we are playing the Spartans! Michigan State Spartans.

Every one of those guys wouldn’t last 2 minutes with Heather.

No one said we’re playing the Wolverines next week, I just found Wolverine fans talking about us, so I shared it.

Good share, interesting thread.

Agreed. The main article here was fairly complimentary to the Gophers. One of the main themes was that Fleck's strategy of using a mix of very experienced homegrown and transfer players has paid off.

The only comments I read about academics involved curiosity about why some 5th and 6th players were listed as "undeclared" majors. I suspect that's an issue with website information not being updated.

Some of the comments clearly showed some animosity toward Fleck but probably no worse than anything you would read on a Badgers or Hawkeye page. Why should we care anyway?

Posting about rival fans "talking shit" is pointless. When would that ever be news?

I just went through it, and their “evidence” about Heather lap dancing recruits came from an anonymous post on the Wisky rivals site. Just saying…

This reflects badly on the people who spread that kind of salacious crap. Reprehensible.

That isn't mere trash-talking or "in good fun". It's just plain nasty.

Yeah, sure, but the internet is "just plain nasty."

The internet and the people who post on the internet are a reflection of the world at large.

There are people who are generally good, decent people, and then there are people who think it's fun to be nasty.

Fun, good-natured trash-talking and ribbing an opponent is fine; being deliberately nasty and hurtful is in a different category.

Your response is an excellent paraphrase of what Warmath often said in his folksy Tennessee drawl when facing a "superior" opponent. You truly do "remember Murray"!

I just read through this blog or whatever it is… what a load of horse bleep.
