Exactly. Not to mention that we have plenty of time to commit to other recruits now. Added bonus.....his younger brother may be as good.....if not better.

His younger brother should end up being a top 20 recruit assuming he keeps developing.

We need shooting and length. Hurt has both. Great pick-up by Pitino.

Do we only have 2 scholarships for the class of 2016? Aren't King and Morris the only juniors?

5 more but take 1 away fro Buggs as someone said so 4 spots for scholarship players.

They have three more to give this spring. I doubt they take in three unless one is a plug and play 5th year senior transfer. So if they sign two that means they would have three to give for the Hurt class - plus any attrition. The other option is that they bring in a juco PF and then they have 4 inthe Hurt year.

He seems to have big better ball handling skills, more crafty, and a better passer than Dekker (little video I have seen) but Dekker has superior athleticism and could stroke it better in HS. Plus Dekker is like 3 inches taller. I feel like he is more like a Joey King with better ball handling skills. I am def excited to see if we can get his brother though.
 


Just catching up on the Hole, and this is the first thing I see. This is just huge. Great get by the Gophs.

How tall is hurt? I thought I saw 6'6"? It is that his brother?

Dekker probably has two inches on him. While I agree with you that Dekker is more athletic I'm not so sure he's a better shooter, Hurt can knock them down.

I just looked at Dekker's numbers and was surprised at how mediocre his 3-point shooting has been. His career 3-point shooting percentage is .356. Everyone agrees Hollins had a bad shooting season last year and his percentage was .349.

Plus, Dekker is significantly greasier than Hurt.
 

Might been said already. But anyone have stats on him or can they be seen on hub or maxpreps.
 


Matthew Hurt is already a nightmare 3 man and I like his ceiling much more than Michael's. Gopher fans, I think you'll see a guy similar to Joey King. Both very skilled but fair questions about their athleticism at the highest level. Great for Minnesota to keep an instate kid home. In terms of basketball fit with coach Pitino, I think the jury is out on that one.
