Michael Hurt has verbally committed to the Gophers!

I just looked at Dekker's numbers and was surprised at how mediocre his 3-point shooting has been. His career 3-point shooting percentage is .356. Everyone agrees Hollins had a bad shooting season last year and his percentage was .349.

Yeah I was saying I think Dekker shot better at the HS level but has def regressed since. I really love the King reference with a little better guard skills. He will develop into a better player imo, no doubt but the Dekker comparison is not close.

Yeah I got that. The mention of it just made me curious so I looked up his shooting numbers at WI. Was just surprised because he was a pretty good shooter as a frosh and he was touted as a good all around shooter coming out of high school. That hasn't really shown in his sophomore and junior year so far.

Did not see one word in the morning strib on this committment in today's paper.

Just sayin.....

So Joey King was what a 2 star recruit out of high school? And I'm probably the biggest Joey King supporter/fan on this board and you wanna tell me this top 150 kid is "similar" to Joey King? Psh.

I guess I gotta quote T. Swift

haters gonna hate hate hate

Your not getting it. He is comparable to a King-esque player, not saying he is the SAME player or the SAME skill level, just a comparison. There is no doubt that Hurt will be a better player but he has a similar skill set that King possesses except Hurt is a better ball handler and passer. He is crafty like King and has similar athleticism.

Saying he has similar athleticism to Joey king does not net you a top 150 rating. Sorry. Joey King might have negative athleticism. Someone posted that we should expect similar to Joey King.

We will see I guess, but without seeing him play, I'm pretty skeptical of the comparison, especially considering how most on this board view Joey as not even a mid major talent.

He's just like Joey King. Not the same size, better on defense, better ball handler, better passer, better shooter, better shot blocker, understands the game better...but they are just alike

Very similar size, around 6'7. Better ball handler and better passer at this point. Very good comparison at this point, however he will obviously get better and has a higher ceiling. I know you are just being a clown but I will respond with something meaningful. I am obviously not the only one on here that thinks they have similar games at this point. Troll away though clown.

Critiquing your comment is not trolling. You've compared him to a guy everyone on this board hates, and Michael is the highest rated recruit since Rodney Williams. What did you expect? Not only did you compare him to Joey, but you immediately back off the comparison by saying he's better in multiple categories and has a much higher ceiling. I get what your saying, but you shouldn't be surprised by the responses, in my opinion.

By saying he is a better ball handler and passer is completely backing off my comparison?? He IS a similar player with a higher ceiling. If you look at a lot of the draft board comparisons, they will compare lottery pick to ****ty NBA players...not because they are going to end up like them but because they have similar skill sets with higher ceilings and that is exactly what my comparison of Hurt and King are...no more, no less.

Hurt moves considerably better than King, IMO, and his offensive and defensive arsenal are deeper than King's. Hurt has the ability to guard some 3's and some 4's.. and play some 3 and 4... depends on a variety of factors, but he's more versatile than King - including rebounding ability.

3 point shooting is similar, size is similar, craftiness is similar. Difference is, Hurt's a little better on defense, definitely more mobile, better/more confident with the ball in his hands, a good passer, and will be a better rebounder in college than Joey is.
