I think its great that Holland's family still comes up for games, knowing their son is red shirting. I can't wait to see him play!

Wow, that IS great! And I can't wait to see MellowYellow21 on the field!

Wait a second. I don't understand how twitter works, but if you scroll down further, someone is telling Mr. Holland Sr. that his son and Gentry were lied to by the Gophers that they would have strong WR careers at Minnesota. Can someone explain to me who said that and what context it was in? It's a tad concerning, but I can't figure out how Twitter works and whether Mr. Holland was agreeing with the tweet or just receiving the tweet.

Like the photo bomb too.

There were a lot of those yesterday.

Hey! Be nice to Nadine!
Ha - the photobomber?

Can you screen shot and post what you're referring to? Then I can tell you. Looking at his profile, I'm guessing someone tweeted that to him, as Melvin Holland Sr. has nothing but positive tweets.

They are really amazing. I have to give props to Chris at The Daily Gopher for connecting us, as they wanted to attend some tailgates. When I spoke with Melvin Holland Sr., he said Melvin picked the U because of the opportunities he'd have after he graduates, job wise. They weren't even looking at the NFL (but if it happens, wonderful) - but with all the companies her and job opps, this was the right place. You rarely hear a kid so realistic and grounded. They also said that after they visited here, they canceled their visit to Wisconsin, which is also great to hear. Marsha and Melvin are really lovely people, and it was nice to meet the Jr. yesterday along with Dominic Mckinzey, really nice kids.

You're worried that some moron on twitter, who could be *********** (evidently you can't even say his name anymore on here, let's just say it rhymes with GuntherJock), is heckling the families of MN Redshirts claiming they don't have any catches this year???

Basically, some guy was pissed in the non-conference season about the lack of passing. Tweeted at Holland Sr. about it. Holland says he hoped that his son would get on the field, but that they trust the staff.

Not too worried, but just curious to see this. Like I said, I don't know how Twitter works, and whether Mr. Holland was agreeing with it or not. Could he remove that post from his Twitter account or is it stuck there once its posted?

Thank you MinneStoa, now I get it. You see, I'm social media challenged. Better catch up with the times over here.

I would reccommend to both of the WR's to wait. why not have Mitch as a RS JR throwing to them? its obvious that the play book will open up the more confident Mitch becomes and he is proving right now that he can play this position. Next year when these two guys start to make a difference they will be very happy they are here.

Also i was two cars away and wondered who these two players were and was impressed that they came over to the tailgating afterwards. more players should do that and help celebrate when so many fans were still hanging around!

Is it just me or does McKinzy look like he could easily be the brother of Dre Hollins?

Nadine - Thank you for being a great ambassador of Gopher football and hoops.

Thanks to all. We had a great time yesterday. Nadine has really showed us some luv. Jr wanted to come over and meet her yesterday because I have told him how the "Gopher's" tailgate :)

I trust in the staff here that they will give Melvin Jr a chance to display his God given talent on the field as promised.

We are 100% Gopher's

I actually love this idea. It would be awesome if some of them could head to different tailgate lots and see how excited the fans are...grab a bite, and chat a bit. You need to stop by and introduce yourself to me too - you know where to find us!

Thank you for your kind words.

I'm so glad you can join us, everyone loves you and Marsha, especially Creepy Tony! I'm glad Jr. wanted to come over and meet us. I'm just sorry we had that incident and didn't have post game food. Wish he could've come earlier and enjoyed the made to order omelettes and pancakes (yes, my pancake did have bacon in it), bacon and sausage....and of course the assortment of jello shots and bloody mary bar for us grown-ups :).
