What could you possibly not like about him?

He has gone to more NCAA's than Tubby at MN while he was Winthrop and Wichita State. He's been a rockstar everywhere he has gone. If you don't like Gregg Marshall as a coach of the Gophers, you're lost.

I don't like Tubby and rather have him than Tubby. I am set on Flip though.
 




Mark my word the next coach of the Gophers will come out of left field and be a name no one has been talking about
 

Gregg Marshall is a fantastic coach - He was one of my early favorites. I didn't think we would get Shaka or Hoiberg - too embedded in their communities. He also has a reputation for being a hard worker in the recruiting arena.

My two cents? I have sons that play HS sports against 2 of the big 3 here in MN and the rumor is Tubby's coaching wasn't impressing them. Again, they liked Tubby but didn't see a track record of success. That speaks volumes to kids.

Is this based on anything other than which knee is arthritic tonight? If he makes the FF it will be hard to get him. They'll bend over backwards like VCU did.
 





He has also been able to recruit in MN. Wonder if that was a fluke or if he has some legit connections to the area in recruiting.

Marshall does have ties to Richmond, VA and is pretty well known in the basketball community here. I think he went to college here (Randolph-Macon and Univ. of Richmond) and was an assistant coach here for a while. So Teague and Ellis may have some relationship/familiarity with Marshall, though I don't know that for sure.

And Wichita has plenty of space for practice facilities now that Boeing is leaving town.
 





Wichita State dude isn't coming here after he wins a national championship.

I think Marshall would be a good coach. I just don't see him coming here. Especially with the Hoiberg offer - Teague wouldn't offer Hoiberg, let it get out, only to have Marshall in his back pocket.

I completely agree with one twist. Both the Shockers and Buzz get punched out Saturday. Both will take the job. Buzz is looking at playing Gtown and 5 lil sisters with no tv and tuff recruiting next year. He would also leap into Texas the first chance He gets so the right choice is the Shocker coach and a solid long term hire. Press conference Monday. If nobody is announced by Monday and one of these two are in the final 4 then that's the guy. Good call Dr.!

Latest word is that the U never actually offered Hoiberg.

Really? If that's the case, if Woody can't land one of the "big names," I'd say he's next on my list (right next to Chris Mack).
He's won in both his HC jobs (his teams get progressively better EVERY year) and his teams play hard. I'm talking myself into him even more as I type this.
