He is 50% of the way there. He needs two more seasons like this to get shit canned.
 

The cheeseheads are not happy. I don’t see them giving up on him yet though. They just got a commitment from a top QB too.

He’s trying to install an air raid offense at Wisconsin. He needs several years to make that transition happen. Wouldn’t start celebrating yet.

I still think he will fail, but it will be because Wisconsin’s consistency was 100% due to Alvarez and he’s gone. We won’t know that until he has a class of his own seniors though.

I wonder if their fanbase has the patience for that considering their history of predictable success?
 


Enjoy your Schaudenfraude gopher fans! Fickell has been unlucky with starting QBs injured both years, Van Dyke only played the first 2 games. How would Minny have done this year if Brosmer blew out his ACL 3 snaps into game #3? Locke should not be playing Division 1 football and the whole team knows it. Most reasonable fans are willing to give him the full 4 years but he has to nail the OC hire.

Problem with the air raid in the P4 is that if you don’t have at least a borderline NFL type qb it gets ugly fast.

Perhaps Fickell is Wisconsin's version of Michigan's "Rich Rod." Great coach in a different system, but a bust in the system that hired him.

Lol Locke shouldn't be playing D1 football, yet he was recruited onto your roster. Nice depth, great scouting. The only schadenfreude I'll be enjoying is your "schaudenfraude" head coach.

The QB is only one the problems
 

Badger message boards are a lot of fun right now. Many of the fans are ready to pull the plug and go looking for a new coach and a new AD. Highly doubt Fickell is in any real trouble job security wise but next year is going to be a big one for him to prove he can get things moving in the right direction and that he isn't another Scott Frost.
 

It’s going to be tough for Fuckell (as he is commonly called on the Wisconsin boards) to survive beyond next season without obvious improvement.
 

Fickle recruited solid P4 talent to a non-P4 conference and dominated. Just like Frost. Now he’s recruiting at a similar level and getting beat up in a P4 conference. Just like Frost.

He’s doing everything the same and failing because it isn’t the same.
