Maturi talked to players and coaches all over the country. The two names he kept coming back to were Leaders and Legends.

I would have rather them gone with Woody & Bo. At least the rest of the country would have known that the Bo division was the one with Michigan & the Woody division was the one with Ohio State. Who's going to remember other than Big Ten fans?
 

I actually made the effort to find this out? These names were the result of a process by professionals. Scary
 

It's times like thses that fans of all Big Ten teams can come together and hate the same thing. "Legends and Leaders" is receiving "WTFs" all around the Big Ten forumsphere.

I feel especially bad for Nebraska. It's like we adopted them, then after all of the paperwork was completed, we informed them their new last name will be "Pooplestein."
 

I thought for sure the punter award would be called "The Adam-Kelly Punter of the Year"!!!

Instead, it's based on these two slouches:

"Eddleman-Fields Punter of the Year: honors Thomas "Dike" Eddleman who was a three-sport star at Illinois (1946-48), starring in football and also being named the Big Ten's MVP in basketball, and Michigan State (2003-2006) and current NFL P Brandon Fields, a first-team All-Big Ten selection in 2003, 2004 and 2006 now playing for Miami Dolphins."

They really should have leaked this about 2 weeks ago to get a feel for the reaction. They will look like fools to change it now, even though it clearly needs to be changed.

I like this. Why not come up with 3 or 4 logo's and division names and have people vote? That being said, the logo isn't bad.
 

Blue & White would have been much simpler, and plays off the base colors of the conference logo
 



Hate the logo and hate the division names. Dorky to say the least.

Why couldn't they have just adjusted the old logo to include a 12 instead of an 11. I loved the old logo.

If that's the logo that won, I'd hate to see all the entries that lost. WTF is up with making it Tarheel blue? Might as well make it pink. Would have been equally manly.

As for division names, I vote for "Our Division" and "The other division". That's perfectly clear.

They would have been better off calling them 'The Ohio State Division' and 'The Other Division.' Michigan doesn't deserve the honor, but at least people would have a clue who's in them.

Each of the twelve institutions have a graphic arts/design program. I'm guessing ten out of the twelve departments could scrape together a better logo within a week (nobody wants ears of corn in the logo, sorry Iowa and Neb).
 

I was hoping for the Mason and DiNardo divisions, but Glen would insist on having the division with Ohio State as being the one named after him.

10 out of 12 junior high graphic arts classes could come up with a better design!

Wow. That was easy. Much better than Legends and Leaders. I can't wait for the Abbott and Costello routine about the leaders of the Leaders next fall on ESPN.
