laurence maroney

Well according to Maroney's spokeswoman, he does have a permit for that gun, he was *not* arrested for any drugs nor was he involved in the high speed chase other than his vehicle being on the road and in proximity to it when when it happened, he was released without being charged with any offense, and they do not anticipate that he will be charged with any criminal offense.

So yes, it's always a danger to rush to judgment in things like this until the full story comes out.

That really sucks, he had a few decent years for the Pats and now he may not be in the league anymore. Not making excuses for being caught with a gun, but St. Louis is a terrible city, I think it had the highest murder rate last year. But if your really that concerned for your safety you can hire a bodyguard, or maybe get a conceal and carry permit to legally carry the firearm.

Why would this stop him? Ray Lewis killed a guy and is still in the league. Granted Lewis is 20 times better than Maroney. I can't believe Maroney turned out so average in the NFL. I thought he'd do much better than Barber, but obviously I was wrong...

This was one of the top stories on the news in Denver tonight. Apparently Maroney's spokeswoman was wrong. There were drugs in the car that were believed to be marijuana. Charges are pending.

She was correct that he and his passengers had permits for their guns. But he could still get a drug charge out of the case.

It's amazing how many kids growing up in bad neighborhoods finally break that cycle, only to return for who knows what reason later on. At some point these kids that are fortunate enough to get out of those situations have got to realize to STAY out of those situations. *sigh*

My man you should really leave Mayberry once in a while.

25 years ago while visiting home (I'm from East St. Louis), there was a driveby shooting by some dudes in a grey Cadillac. It just so happened yours truly (me) had come home to show off his new grey Coupe De Ville to his cousins. Being that I had purchased the car the same day I came down the vin number didn't show up in my name (and no...yellow pieces of paper claiming you own the car don't get you much in the Lou).

Guess where I spent my weekend until they could straighten everything out?:cool02:

I forgot to add: People with good character aren't judgemental. I'm just saying....

+1

this whole statement is absolutely absurd. People with good character surround themselves with people who put themselves in good situations, this not being one. Please do not tell me he had no recollection of other weapons or drugs in the car.

if judgmental means stating that he was an idiot for putting himself in that situation, then I guess I'm judgmental. Sometimes the truth hurts.

Please stop providing excuses for bad behavior/choices.

I would have told you the exact opposite thing when projecting Marion and maroney

As someone who grew up playing sports with him and his brother, I can tell you that he is the hardest worker you will ever meet who comes from a great family which supports him. Unfortunaley, maroney comes from a tougher background which may effect his decision making sometimes. . As I stated in my previous posts, this does not excuse his behavior at all.
