King cleared to play this season

Kind of concerned by the fact that King didn't even attempt a 2 pt shot in the scrimmage, four guys firing from the three isn't going to make you very consistent and you are not likely to be very successfull in the Big Ten, a bit like Illinois last year, great when you are on, but on off nights you are going to get blown out. I feel the ability to rebound and operate around the basket are going to be more important than stepping out and hitting a couple of 3's from the 4 position.

Still concerned about the 4, not sure the answer has been found yet, time will tell.

all that's left now is to see if he can handle himself inside on D and stretch the floor on O. should make our team even more fun to watch

Watched him every game at Drake last year, and I sure hope his defense has improved since then. Struggled on defense against MVC guys, so Big Ten will be ever tougher on him.

Definitely good to have him available to play, because he'll definitely get some good minutes.

I think this has been said before, but if this year's Gophers have the season of last year's Illini, I will be more than satisfied

Yeah, I expect he'll struggle on D and rebounding some nights, maybe a lot of nights. If things had worked out the way we all wanted them to, King would have been a nice option coming off the bench and providing some depth and scoring on the front line. That would be the perfect role for him, at least as a soph. As it is, he's probably our best option for starting PF and we'll just have to make the best of it. He seems to have a bit of a nasty attitude and cockiness at times, and that's something this team could use.

Based on tonight's results it seems like Oto could be the best option at PF.

We thought a drake transfer that averaged 7 points a game in the Missouri valley conference was going to be our best option at power forward.

It's gonna be a long season :p

I think King will develop into a nice player. He's only a sophomore.

I have strong hopes that we will see more From Wally this year. He may not be as tall as King but certainly more athletic.

If Wally could shoot like Joey, or Joey could jump like Wally...we'd have something!!

Who'd be starting for Tubby? Probably Oto as well.

King is a nice prospect but he's young, undisciplined & doesn't understand his role yet. He should play some minutes off the bench & gain experience. I like what he's made of though & think he's got the potential to do big things for us.

My prediction for this season is that since he's a gunner, he'll win us a couple of games when he heats up, but that he'll also sit a lot for not playing much defense, not attacking the hoop, not rebounding & jacking up bad shots. He is a horse that needs to be broken.
