What's the kicking situation look like for 2023?
Oh...it's important! Hope we have someone as good or better than Trickett.I've been wondering the same. Trickett wasn't a "big leg" guy, but he delivered in the clutch more often than not, in my opinion.
Place kicker isn't really very important... until it is. Then it becomes crucial.
It is EXTREMELY important!!Oh...it's important!
Brady Weeks returns. Preferred walk-on to Ryan Algrim from Kaneland HS in IL (Fleck's alma mater). Can't punt without a long snapper...how are we doing there me wonders?
Another Tony Fauci "Gain of Function" creation?A secret lab on the Ag campus is working on a Chip Lohmiller-Rhys Lloyd hybrid.
There is some uncertainty, though, about the potential eligibility of a University-created, lab-grown 1-year old athlete.
Great pedigree athletically and otherwise. Shudlicks are great people through multiple generations. I’m pretty sure Carol Ann won the Wade Trophy the womens basketball version of the Heisman.Caleb McGrath out of Eastview HS is a preferred walk-on punter. Just was at Under Armour All American game. Dad is from Australia and pitched for the Gophers. Mom is a Shudlick from Apple Valley. Two of the Shudlick girls played hoops for Gophs, two played vb. Aunt Carol Ann in Gopher HOF. She had career scoring record when she finished.
Agree with this. Why he wasn't already kicking field goals is a PJ mystery.Kesich will be the FG kicker and Crawford will be the punter in 2023.
Maybe because Trickett was better? Just because you can kick kickoffs out the back of the endzone doesn't mean you can consistently/accurately hit field goals.Agree with this. Why he wasn't already kicking field goals is a PJ mystery.
Is it really a mystery though? Couldn't it just be as simple as Trickett was better or does there have to be some sort of grand conspiracy?Agree with this. Why he wasn't already kicking field goals is a PJ mystery.
lol...didn't notice your post before I said basically the exact same thing. Always love when people go hunting for something nefarious or bigger than the simple and obvious explanation which would be that Trickett was the best field goal kicker on the roster so he was the one who did it. Shocking.Maybe because Trickett was better? Just because you can kick kickoffs out the back of the endzone doesn't mean you can consistently/accurately hit field goals.
So not likely to be ready then for 2023 huh.....guess we will have to move on to plan B.That's light years away. This is as far as things have gotten on the St. Paul campus...

It's not, obviously the guy that was kicking was better.Agree with this. Why he wasn't already kicking field goals is a PJ mystery.
Kesich and Crawford as kickoff specialist and punter. Kesich and Lewis will have be competing for field goal kickerWhat's the kicking situation look like for 2023?

So basically we just have to get to the 50 for an automatic 3. Works for me!A secret lab on the Ag campus is working on a Chip Lohmiller-Rhys Lloyd hybrid.
