I shouldn't take the bait, because I don't want this thread to get too far off-topic, but let's say that actually IS how kids decide where to go to school (it's not)...
The City of Milwaukee has more Fortune 500 companies per capita than the City of Minneapolis, and Madison is continuously growing.
So, yes, maybe he does think he can make a living over here. Regardless, it's not like he'd be confined within the state's borders for the rest of eternity. As of a few years ago, I know Madison was having a Hell of a time trying to get UW grads to stay in state after graduation.
With that said, I like the Twin Cities 100x more. I'm still holding out hope that Brookins feels the same way at some point over the next year.
Not quite. According to Wikipedia the 2010 census showed Milwaukee with a population of 594,833 and Minneapolis with 382,578. Milwaukee has five Fortune 500 companies (http://money.cnn.com/magazines/fortune/fortune500/2011/states/WI.html) and Minneapolis has ten (http://money.cnn.com/magazines/fortune/fortune500/2011/states/MN.html). Overall, Wisconsin has nine Fortune 500 companies and Minnesota has 20.
