He should have done that on February 25. Not only did he not apply for asylum during the season, he went back to Russia at the end.Time to get creative and ask for Asylum due to an illegal war that he refuses to be a part of.
Not so sure it’s about reinforcements but more about not letting your top hockey to talent to leave and play in the nhl. I read that the goalie fro Philly that was the first one stopped is playing for a team while in the military. Russians were always a big risk to draft now they became undraftable as you may never get them over here to play.Read some more about this. It's a big deal in Russia. They're cracking down on athletes who try to use tricks or loopholes to avoid military service. Russian army needs reinforcements......
