True, he can beat the spread while still losing the game like you wouldn't believe. A betting man's wet dream for a coach.
 

I really see our OC as an issue. I swear if we play hurry up we would have had a better chance... but instead, we just waste 30 seconds each play.... not to mention going into a shell after Leidner's pick 6.
 



We have been pretty depleted by injuries. We should've beat Michigan last week. Sure, it was Claeys who is most to blame for the last 19 seconds, but you can't make a decision based off 19 seconds in a game. Then to play like we did tonight against OSU, I don't see how a new coach and staff would be a better choice at this point. Give Claeys the gig. The program is on the right path.
 

Get it done before the 2016 class falls apart. That class is Jerry's legacy.
 

Michigan and Ohio State are not normal losses.

This team has had its share of hard luck. Its bound to turn at some point. This team
can win two of the next three.
 



This simply, Claeys and Sawvel have coached their assess off. Limegrover is junk. Find a hot sh*t OC and sign these guys

Legacy is something you leave behind. He left a half painted picture. None of those kids are signed to a LOI. If Claeys is named HC, I'd give him and the assistants more credit for getting these kids to sign..
 

Claeys will get the job if the team wins 2 of the next three.
That's it.

And then he will choose the OC.
 

Claeys will be the coach next year even if we lose all the remaining games.

He needs to go find an OC that can develop a QB.

Last week I kept blaming Claeys, and sure he's the Coach and approves of the call... but he was just covering up for Limegrover. As an OC, how do you even make that call? Even if the coach says... "hey, lets try to sneak in a pass play" to Limegrover, he should have realized it since he's the one who knows the plays the best. I will blame Claeys next year if it happens because by then he better know everything about the O, D, and ST

This staff plays to lose every single time. The morons in MN are extremely happy to just keep it close and play to lose every single time against good teams because turds like Claeys are too gutless to even try to win.

Stop talking about what he does in the 4th quarter and start talking about the massively gutless coaching performance in the other 3 quarters. They piss down their legs every time.

They literally don't even try in the first half. They just show up...........that is the best thing you can say. They show up and go through the motions of RUN RUN RUN PUNT.

No doubt. Ohio State is ranked number 1 in the country and the Gophers were in until the end, on the road, with an injury depleted lineup. Michigan is no slouch either. The program is on the right path. It seems like a no-brainer to me.
 

My biggest issue with Limegrover is that he seems to be such a slow decision/play caller.

This team is knocking on the door! I have to say been pretty impressed with the last two game plans. We are so close if not for two bad plays tonight we win this game. I know we lost but almost feels like we won. Sign him up this week

Yup, you're right. If they had played to win we would have beat the number one team in the nation by a million, billion, trillion to nothing. If they just coached to win, like you do when you play NCAA on your play station, the Gophers would be Super Bowl winners!
 

Sign him. Chances of getting a better coach are about the same as winning the lottery. Gophers outplayed Michigan and were down to Ohio State only 14-21 with a few minutes left. Totally agree about the lack of imagination and slowness on offensive play calls, but it's hard to see Claeys demoting his longtime colleague, Limegrover.

You are injecting your own bias. I have nothing to do with play station. So give that moronic angle up.

Wins have nothing to do with that.

Last week they coached to lose and they did the same this week. They basically forfeit the first half of every game by doing absolutely nothing on first and second down. Congrats on having stupid coaches. You can't just give up entire halves of quarters and not even try to score points.

Analysis paralysis. He has shown for years that he cannot get plays into Mitch in a timely manner. Consider that, along with the awful shifts and motions call last week, and overall failure to utilize a creative playbook, and we have a weak link.

I wonder how good of friends Limey and Claeyes are. Sometimes those relationships keep people from doing what must be done.

You're just another person who thinks anyone that disagrees with your takes is happy with moral victories and okay with mediocrity. Many people think the current staff can get the job done and get the program to a better place. You don't. It's okay for people to disagree with you.

If you think everyone is gutless and you're "tired of that crap", why do you even take the time to post here?

99% of the homers here ARE happy to "only" lose by a few TDs.

That is the truth, even if most here are not happy to admit it.

I'm tired of the status quo. I never really like Kill it but it was like attacking Jesus or something around here.....the homers would just "kill" you if you didn't care for his approach.

Now he quits and his crap staff is even worse and people immediately NEED to hand his staff 4+ year contracts. The insecurity is amazing.
