Kaler needs to get this done NOW!

The whole 1st NYD Bowl Game is a red herring. Technically true, but we a better claim to those bowls twice under Mason. So while it was the first NYD bowl, it wasn't any better of a season that we've had twice already the last 15 years.

All three teams went 5-3 in the big ten. I would say Kill's squad had the toughest big ten slate and they had roads wins at Michigan and Nebraska. The two Mason squads didn't have to play Ohio State and they both had easier non con schedules. Swap TCU for one of the Helen Keller Blind Deaf and Dumb squads we normally play in September and we probably finish in the top 20

There is a really good chance that we will be playing only four teams next year coming off a winning record. Quite the change from this year.

Not trying to shoot the messenger, appreciate, but that's a terrible deal for stability and recruiting. There's no way for the class of 17 that Claeys or even this class that Claeys can walk into a kids living room and promise he will be there for the four years that their son is on the field

While that may be true, and 2 years makes no sense to me either, with the way Head Coaches are fired or leave with contracts still in tack, a 4-year deal doesn't guarantee that either. In fact the 2 Head Coaches before Kill both had years left on their contracts when they were fired.

So you can recruit against Minnesota by saying either "See, they're only giving Claeys 2-years because they don't trust him." Or "What difference does his contract make? Minnesota churns thru Coaches either way!"

I think the price of poker just went up. The game at Illinois has much added interest, since the interim AD was at SIU when the current Gopher staff worked miracles there. Those that think Minnesota is the only option for this staff could be in for a rude awakening. I'm sure they want to stay, but it would sure be interesting if the Gophers let this staff get away and end up having to face them every year.

As I've said before, this team could very easily lose their last 3 games and fall to 4-8 on the season, 1-7 in the B1G, in the year they were supposed to compete for the west. This is a staff that the Gopher Admin should be racing to extend?

Lots of variables, but hypothetically, if you had to decide today, would you rather have this staff stay or have your new staff face them (scored) at Illinois every year?

That's the problem, I don't want to decide today. The last game of the regular season is only 2 weeks from Saturday. I wan't Claeys to get the job, but I want this staff to beat a top 20 team and/or Wisconsin. They've yet to do either in 5 years, but still have the chance to do both in the next 3 games. I don't care where Claeys goes if the Gophers decide to not keep him.

Your hesitancy is insignificant, but from the administration sends a subtle message. Your indifference to where they go is duly noted. Do you recall the last time the Gophers played against this staff with MAC players?

I'm hearing TC is getting a two year deal. A lets see how its goes approach without an AD named. I'm not saying how I know. Also, its not the deal I would prefer, just what I'm hearing.

I sure hope you are incorrect. Minimum should be 4 years!

True, but with the guys prior to Kill The U showed a commitment to them until it was clear it wasn't working. Doing the latter in your argument is throwing up the white flag. Yes all contracts are meant to be broken lol, but by only giving two years you're not even trying to hide it.

I hope so as well. I'm just sharing what I heard. As of this morning, that was the inside rumor. Since there has been no announcement, maybe there still some negotiating and things can change.

That would be so Gopher-esque. Give him the job, but chop him off at the knees with a BS contract. Either give him the job or don't.
