Love it!

Per STrib Q&A:

Q: What is it like being part of such a solid recruiting class with so many in-state recruits?

A: Guys understood where me and (fellow recruit and Eden Prairie linebacker) Carter (Coughlin) were coming from. We wanted to build it brick by brick. People don’t think we can win, and that’s what’s going to take us far in the Big Ten, hopefully to a Big Ten championship.

Q: What are your goals for your Minnesota career?

A: I want to be the best defensive tackle Minnesota has ever had. I also wanted to leave a mark with my hard work. I’ll never turn down anybody. I’ll always be here to help any kid.

Go Gophers!!

Garcia is the best DT recruit we've had since...???

I hope Jojo knows that Bronko was a tackle.

And I'd be just fine if he became the best ever.

To be honest, I want Garcia to be the best ever as well. And I'd really like it if he topped our previous high of only 3 national titles in a row...

May the ghosts of departed Gopher greats be with you JoJo.

Like the confidence, but for now I'd be happy if he merely makes it onto campus. Some are saying there are academic hurdles, etc.

Hopefully, his admissions/academic issues get resolved.

We've got about eight months to NSD in February time-wise to work with.

This is not an Andre McDonald situation, and more like Jeff Jones?

Gotta applaud the Gophers coaches & academic staff for their work on JJ.

With the somewhat surprising commit of Carter (we have gotten used to losing his kind to helmet schools) we may have forgotten a little just how big a commit Garcia is. Garcia may very well have as good or better a Gopher career as Carter. We have Gopher Greats in the making. And yes, don't forget JJ and others too. These are exciting times and I am not afraid to revel in them as they become reality. I don't need the finished product to be hyped. We are on an undeniable track and now Minnesota kids are in the lead. Imagine that!
